Dave luv my wool . I have Pete Storm which is great but I do not hunt in ( bulk – noise ) but what I did get and hunt in and I don’t seem to have problems with is Frog toggs – seems to be good stuff and as far as most things go cheap. Doctor Don turned me on to both of these items

in reply to: Early Season a Bust #48648wish you the best of luck . I have been in elk here in Idaho but it has been tough and as always it seems way too short. Going out in the morning last day ,record temps high of 85 .

in reply to: Discipline in the field #37872also the elk have to want to play. If you are hunting alone that in my mind is the toughest game in town. You need to call and move because when that elk comes he will have you pinpointed down to the exact spot. I have at times gave up and headed back to camp and cow calling and all of a sudden you are in that bulls house and he screams and then he just comes like a train and there he is in your lap. The more time spent in the field your odds increase.
in reply to: What are you reading in Elk camp? #37301been reading DP ghost grizzlies , even saw a few this year up in Glacier.
in reply to: Thoughts on camo, fabrics, etc. #36841I may be crazy but years ago in early Sept heat I even would wear my old Dead t shirts and have no probs at all. I am lucky that I am smaller than most and a lot of gear is given to me. Every thing from high end camo to Pendelton wool shirts. I wear what ever the elements say or what ever is comfy.
in reply to: wolfs , hydatid disease #35977thanks for posting . I spent a long weekend camping and chasing big bulls smack dab in the middle of wolf country and I survived. I looked at the site and yup that’s it . That little girl is scary enough.

in reply to: Info on tuning your bow #50683Eric this was always hard for me but the biggest things I found were brace nock and the proper arrow . I think I really over thought everything.Keep it simple have fun and shoot
in reply to: Idaho Trad Bowhunters – huh? #50179ITB are very active but also pretty low key. I see a bunch of the guys at the ISB jam in July in Stanley. I will put a bug in their ear. I will see black chicken and hand him $10 cash and I am in. You can shoot them a e-mail and they are pretty good about getting back to you.
