There was an article in Trad Bowhunter Mag about videoing yourself and how they suggest to go about it.
Pretty good article and combined with ubersense it has really helped me
I am an ex- Football Coach and we filmed everything to help us so this was right up my alley
That was in the Aug/Sep 2012 issue. Traditional Wisdom–Filming a Better Shot by Robert Smith
in reply to: A first harvest… #53630Excellent! Congratulations to both of you.

He is such an animal lover than I hesitate to get chickens or horses…I fear they’d be sleeping on the bed!
Butchering is done in the kitchen and I help whenever I can. It’s a big job to do alone! It doesn’t matter where he plucks birds, feathers ALWAYS end up inside the house. I gave up a long time ago. π I was not raised in a hunting family, so all this was new to me. It didn’t take me long to appreciate the taste of wild game, but I caught on to the “free food” line pretty quick. Need a new bow, a new truck, an Alaska hunt, taxidermy… I also enjoyed a little quiet time during hunting season and never understood why some wives get so upset. It’s a part of him I would never dream of trying to stop.
I do remember when the kids were little… Travis was about 7 and had gone elk hunting with T.J. and a friend. He proceeded to show his little sister how to blood trail…from the back of the truck, through the garage, and into the kitchen! π
Fallguy wrote: I have not seen any reports in Minnesota of anyone taking a wolf with any kind of archery equipment. It seems like there was a article years ago in the T.B. about a Canadian Bowhunter that took one. I do not remember if he used a longbow or recurve.
The Feb/Mar 2005 had an article by Kirby Kohler Whitetails, Wolves and Lightening Bolts. I can’t put my hands on that issue until later today, but I’ll check to see if he killed a wolf in the story. If there is another story about a Canadian killing a wolf, I can’t find it in the index. Maybe someone else can help there.
Ha ha. Could you image? “You all have to play nice, because I said so. I’m the Mom!”
I’m happy to be the Supreme Leader in my own little world. For the most part I’m happy to delete double posts and help you post pictures. I surely don’t keep track of who gets deleted. It is a very small number compared to the great topics and cheerful banter between us over the years. π

I didn’t do it! π But you are right, it does look like two threads were crashed together. π― At least you know you aren’t confused…
in reply to: 300 gr. blunts? #33045The Oct/Nov issue has an article in Traditional Wisdom by Sterling Holbrook about adding weight to rubber blunts. Here is a brief excerpt:
I take an empty cartridge casing of any .38 calibers, such as 9mm., .380, .357 mag. or .38 special and glue this over my untapered shaft with hot melt. Once cool, I slide on the blunt. Rubber and plastic blunt weights vary considerably. By weight checking my 11/32β blunts with various cartridge cases, I can find a close match to my broadhead weight of 200 grains.
I believe he was also grinding down the rim of the cartridge. I’m not sure if this will work to get you to 300 grains, but it’s worth a shot. (Yes, the pun was intended!) The new issue will be online for Premium Members on Thursday morning. π

Our system will underline a word in red if it is misspelled. Then you can right-click on that word and see some suggestions at the top of the option box. Select the correct spelling and it will replace the word. At least that’s how it works on my computer. π

in reply to: Brace height changes affecting EFOC flight? #22651Doc Nock, and anyone else who is interested, you can set it up to get emails when anyone posts in a thread by using the selections at the very bottom of the thread. Here is a picture to show what to click. Conversely, if you are getting emails about threads and you want them to stop, click the other link.

Photo 1: Here’s first of 3 pics. This one clearly shows how lower limb very uneven against the upper…
Photo 2: Though you can’t read the numbers on the bow square you’ll see the difference
Photo 3: Here you can see the upper limb clearly an inch farther from the string then the lower limb…
