in reply to: ELK HUNTING HELP #48778
Hi Tom. Welcome to the campfire.
I wish I had an easy answer for your dilemma but I don’t. π₯ Hopefully, some of the other elk hunters can help, but elk are to find here in Idaho too. Can you give us an idea of where you have already been in Colorado?

Dave had two articles in the Feb/Mar issue, A North American Model of Wildlife Conservation and Campfire Philosopher Motors vs Moose. Which article are you referring to?
in reply to: I missed you guys! #46609Hi Chris! Good to see you here. That jam sounds wonderful! Maybe you could be a Food Network star making wild food. Seriously, I hope things are going well for you. We missed you too! π
Oh, and we have two elk in our freezer, but I didn’t shoot ’em, I was here working. π
in reply to: frameable quality Saxton P photo #44205Hi JT.
My first thought was to ask the Pope and Young Club/Museum in Chatfield MN. I think an online search should turn up their contact information. If you can’t find it, let me know and I can dig it up. You might also ask the store where they got theirs. Good luck with your search.
in reply to: (DCM) David Mim's passing #41927Thanks for sharing, Jawge. Always sad to lose one of our brothers. I’ll be praying for David’s family during this rough time.
in reply to: Ashby forum reborn — please read! #35688jfelkins wrote: I’m starting to dig into this awesome collection of knowledge. Thanks Dr. Ashby For your work and Dave for this post. I’d love to read through the articles when I’m not online. Does any of the library exist as .pdf’s or a similar format? Thanks!
John
Hi John,
Great to see you are enjoying this information. It is a lot to absorb. Dr. Ed has allowed us to post this on our web site, but we don’t have permission to send it out in any other format. You might try a PM to him with your email address and see if he can give it to you. He’s great to work with. Start a PM to anyone and change the name to Dr. Ed Ashby or find a thread he posted in and click the PM link. Here is a random post I found. Ashby Post. The system is weird and I’m not able to find him using a search. I think that’s because he has a period in the name. π
Take care,
in reply to: Barta Wilderness Arrows #29815jsondgeroth wrote: I also just received a dozen of the new arrows.my first dozen came frome Rose City ready to shoot. So on the Barta arrows I noticed that the field points did not slide onto the arrow even when forced after they were tapered. I assume I have to sand down the tips, but that seemed odd. I checked the sizes and both are at 11/32. Any suggestions?
Have you contacted 3Rivers Archery? They can best answer your questions or make it right for you. They have great customer service.
in reply to: blacktail longbow #22048Hi rak, welcome to the site.
I don’t know the answer to your question, but I know who does. Call Norm Johnson at Blacktail Bows, (541) 271-2585. I’m sure he’d be happy to help you. He’s a great guy. Bowyers often get questions about their bows from second (or third) hand buyers/shoppers so it isn’t unreasonable to ask him a question or two. Hopefully, some of the other members will chime in about their experience with Blacktail Bows. π
in reply to: Wilderness First Aid Kit #8738fbahouth wrote: A long time ago, Dr. Don Thomas wrote a great article in TB about a wilderness first aid kit, and suggested some items for its content. Is there any chance the article exists in digital form, or maybe the list can be reprinted? I would love to see a copy.
I use different hunting/hiking packs depending on the season and would like to assemble a few kits and leave them in each pack, so I am assured of having one regardless of which pack I use.
I’m not finding that article in the index. Hopefully Don will be along soon to help.
in reply to: Upgrades on the Site #53212Updates on the updates… Just got a message from Support that says they found the timeout problem in our forum and fixed it. You should not be timed out of your typing or reading posts in less than 1 hour. If anyone gets a timeout (or the login screen) in under an hour, please send me a PM or email webmaster@tradbow.com.
Obviously, if there are other problems you can contact me about those too! π

I don’t know if you did anything, but the previews now drop out of sight as soon as you scroll away. Thanks! dwcThe funny thing is I don’t always know what I’m doing…but I’m willing to try. I’m glad it worked out. π

Is anyone else having trouble with the previews not going away?
