in reply to: Tired of haybales? #38654I’ve had a few penetrate but most bounce off a few feet.Never more than four or five yards.Just like hitting a hard stump with a blunt.
in reply to: Emergency Gear #25651Emergency gear……space blanket, fire starter, water filter straw, blood clot bandage. I read in the paper a few years back about a Washington archer who had the misfortune of getting stuck in the rear end ( on a stalk)by his buddy ,bleeding out before the paramedics arrived..Used them, never!Peace of mind, absolutely! On a side note :I ditched the hydration bladder in my backpack and went back to a flask.Keep my water at the truck.
in reply to: Footing for gt 7595 traditional #25597I just made a couple of footings from 2213 shafts and they are a perfect fit.
in reply to: foc and plungers #25590I’m going to build out the shelf plate and not mess with the plunger.Just to keep it simple.
in reply to: Storing and/or Displaying Your Bows #34880Here’s mine.Made myself.
in reply to: GPS Suggestions #30219Last elk season we had limited access due to fire danger. There is very little public land were I hunt, most being private Timberland open for hunting ,walk in only.I dusted off my GPS with map chip and was able to keep myself out of restricted areas.I love maps and compass but in this regard the GPS was a valuable tool.
in reply to: Mountain Bikes #41644Here’s my modified bow tote.
in reply to: great northern side mount quiver #41069It’s the quiver. What is the advantage of angled back? Just curious.
in reply to: Mountain Bikes #37316More pack horse than bike. I can haul my game bags, pack board, meat saw, push it up a mountain on gated logging roads.Stash it in the brush, hunt on foot and downhill to the truck with a elk quarter… if I’m lucky. To cary my bow,I use a bow tote from vintage archer, although I had to add a bungee cord around my chest for the downhills.Bounced around to much.Great for a spike camp outing as well. One last thing, get a kickstand so you can stop and glass without having to lay your bike down.:D
in reply to: Assumptions and Biases #36018My hunting buddy shoots wheels…I shoot a recurve…He tries to get me to “upgrade” to a compound and I trie to convince him to use a heavier arrow and ditch the bic razor broadheads.Despite our differences we hunt well together!
in reply to: Elkheart radio interview #36007Awesome!
in reply to: kme sharpener and tuffheads #55404That’s pretty much what I just did and have it shaving arm hairs now.I think I got it!:D
in reply to: kme sharpener and tuffheads #55349You guys are right I’ll give the man a call.I feel kinda stupid at the moment and I hate the thought of wasting his time.but I’ll give it a try.
in reply to: favorite hot glue #50682That’s what I just bought, glued up my first tuffhead and spun it on the dixon b.h.a. Helluva lot quicker than the bohning insert iron I was using!
