in reply to: Practice makes perfect, Hopefully. #14843I am going to agree with 2 people Moebow and David in that great form is important and important to practice a lot the first couple of months. Sometime it is good to find a coach near you who can help by critiquing your form for to help with moving you forward.

Also something similar in G. Fred Asbell’s book “Advanced Instinctive shooting” he talks about trying to hold and release a paint can with a the thin handle form about 6″ off the ground and if you do it right the can fall on the ground and not spill.
in reply to: Short Bows #10367There is another bowyer out there BigFoot bows I believe while I have not shot any of his bows myself. he seems to be designing and selling shorter bows that other trad archers rave about once they have one in the hand.

I will probably be not able to make it. Are you going to the CBA banquet in Longmont this year?
in reply to: How-to Videos #60058Good luck with the hog hunting. Hopefully bacon comes your way soon.
in reply to: How-to Videos #58899Enjoyed the videos. Is the weather still conducive for hunting the hogs?
in reply to: A true custom bow #54546I think there are a few bowyers that will do it your way if the design will work and they can stand behind it. But we need a little idea of what you have in mind to point you in the right direction.
in reply to: Side Quiver #53363Steve;
I have the Safari Tuff that i used this past fall with a daypack for hunting mule deer. To make it work i pinned the Safari Tuff to the daypack with safety pins and it worked reasonably well. I liked it better that than GFA quiver I had made that was pinned in the same way. The only downside to it was that sure collected a lot of tops of grass or weed while stillhunting. I still however was not completely happy and have been thinking about the horhunter line of packs that Smithhammer was using earlier this hunting season.
in reply to: ELK HUNTING HELP #52412If you want to stay in Colorado there are options. While you are remote you can use the info from biologist and then scout using Google earth to pinpoint places in the unit that you want to hunt to start with. After all each hunting unit in Colorado is good size but the places the elk are in that area might be small. So You can try Amoose and his idea of Washington or look at Oregon or if you want to come back to Colorado you might have to do a fair bit of computer scouting before you head out.
in reply to: Is it possible ? #52396Good luck in following the dream.
in reply to: Black Widow #45914I have not tried a BW bow so I can’t comment on it. However I will say they are a lot of great bowyers out there that offer try before you buy and they have a great bow that works and looks great for less than a BW.
