Scott I’ve known times at Twenty Nine Palms, CA. in the middle of July, in the middle of the night, that I wished the Corp had issued me a couple more of those itchy wool blankets. 😀

It gets plenty cold here in the TX panhandle, not too far below zero too often but add our incessant fall and winter winds, wool can feel mighty good no matter what color.

I got the wrinkles part down pat.

I do good wearing brown and gray tones of plaid around here with a sagebrush colored camo vest and all is good.

Pulls the wool over their eyes sometimes. 🙄

First of all I can’t see why anyone is a fool to wear camo if they so choose to do so.

If it makes you feel like you’re doing a better job of hunting what’s foolish about that.

The ancients disguised themselves from the game they sought as well from the enemies among them by trying to appear as nature, hiding the human form.

The last time I shipped a bow I went to a local carpet store and they gave me the cardboard tube out of the middle of a roll of carpet. Tough stuff.

I imagine it added as much or more weight than some PVC but to me the extra cost was worth the trouble.

The bowyer sent the repaired bow back in the same tube and it survived that too.

Seriously, we think lightning, car crashes, stupid hunters shooting other hunters, etc. a million things to do us in, but bugs kill us more than anything else put together.

A farmer in Texas was killed by bees other day when he was plowing his field. Damn, guy was just minding his own business.

Any of us could find a hive. We all get stung by mosquitoes. We all get ticks.

We just gotta play heads up, take what precautionary measures we can and hope for the best.

It may be a bad thing to say Steve, if you’re sick,I hope you have the flu and and not a bad mocus tick borne disease.

Glad y’all are safe and not too much damage.

Being an ex high lineman and substation electrician I have seen plenty of lightning damage and I’ve been knocked face down in the mud from the concussion of a lightning strike. The stuff scares the hell oughta me.
