Iam guessing this comes from stringing and unstringing the bow when not in use. My son shoots a black panther bear recurve which we unstring when he is done. However the last time he shot it there was an unusal noise from the bow, arrow flight was way off and after examining the bow we noticed a verticle line running down the lower limb (stress fracture). He looked at me the way a son can only look at his dad. I smiled and gave him my only bow my or I should say his now which is a bear kodiak mag. We really never got into deer hunting because of lack of places to hunt. However we love to hunt rabbits, so this year I told my son he now has a dog to jump rabbits for him. But this dog will ground him if one of those arrows even comes close lol.

have you looked at the GFA quiver. I bought one a couple of years ago and I would not go into the woods without it. very durable, reliable and easy to use.

Rabbits are number one for me and my son ( I asked him before I wrote this). With squirrel being second and deer third.

Welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I do. I dont get on as much as I would like do to my job as a truck driver. However the chance I do get to get on I take full advantage of. I have to go shoot my bow first thats priority one.

I have watched your videos and read your responses to many topics. And for such a young man you seem to be very intellagent. Now I have never hunted bears in Maine nor any other place for that matter. All the videos I watched and books Ive read it seems to me the only feesible way to harvest a bear in Maine is over bait, due to the density of the forest in that reigion. Please tell me if I’m wrong. As far as antler size I personly enjoy the taste of a doe over a monster buck any day.

Man you have some great talent. Your shooting with bow and camera is some of the best I ever seen. I watched alot of different hunting videos that I paid for and yours is just as good if not better.

I shoot an ACE 2 blade 145 grn broadhead.I was told by a few people that you shouldnot shoot bear or even hogs with a two blade because of lack of penatration and little blood trails the two blades leave. what is your opion. depending on the economy I’m planning on going on a hog hunt maybe this fall.

for me I own a 52′ 55# bear kodiak mag, That is all I shoot every year I tell myself Im going to get a new bow. One that is longer maybe 58 or 60 inches so it dosenot stack up so much but Iam getting very good with my bow so maybe next year I might get a longer one.

for me I dont think about distance. I have a target i shoot at and when I pull my arrows I walk strait back or at an angle not thinking about distance turn around and pick a spot and shoot. If I would try to guess how far my target is I would do to much thinking and not let my instincts take over.

To be honest the only nocks I care for are the classic bohing. when they are on my string they fit real loose. you could point the arrow straight down flick the string lightly with your finger and the arrow would fall off. Upon release of a fully drawn arrow I cant hear any noise from the nock leaving the string.

I started with a paper plate then took a small coffee can drew a circle on the plate, cut out that circle. Then I moved down to a soup can, shot glass, dime, now Im working on the tack size. at 15 yrds Im doing ok but that 20 yard mark is causing me problems.
