King, It was all said, but I have to say it again. Thanks for the excellent documentation and evidence of outstanding performance. Congratulations on your hunt and also on the proof of your method. best, dwc

I was able to match my judo arrows to my tuffhead arrows by using lighter, 75 gr., steel adapters and a 50 grain insert with the tuffheads and a 125 grain steel adapter and 100 grain insert for the stumpers. Better to make them match if you can. As most of you do, I try to make my stumping shots as accurate as my target shots, since they’re all target shots. Have fun with the crazy! dwc

My comment on the stacking was that maybe when you hit the point where you have to pull harder to get more draw maybe it just hurt the fingers more. I have a 60 inch longbow, but I started on a 56 inch Browing Wasp. I never noticed anything, but then maybe I didn’t know enough to notice! dwc

            Col,

Thanks for this note. It must have been a great time for the two of you. You are fortunate to have the time with Dave and he is fortunate to have you as a friend.

I never served in the military, but I drank a lot of coffee and a lot of beer listening to those who have from three wars. I’ll never grow tired of hearing tales of times I missed.

Straight arrows to you. You are a good friend. peace, dwc

So in the end, it still comes down to string angle and how we each feel the sting. Thanks very much! Enjoy the holiday. peace, dwc

I saw that good news on the PAGC web page a while back. From what I was told, the limit of 3 inches was actually imposed to prevent mechanical heads that looked cool but worked very poorly. Congratulations, Joe! Now I’m a legal hunter….dwc

I enjoyed this thread. If anyone comes along a youtube of the actual explanation, please, please share it.

Thanks, Webmom! Well put you guys. I had a great day. Great weather and, for the most part, just hanging out at home with my wife and kids. Very relaxing. All the best! dwc

I’ve been using a dremel with a 2 inch or so cutting disk. I mark the shaft, carefully cut it a tad long and then butt the end into the disk to square and shorten it to proper length. Works great as long as you don’t rush it. dwc

                            Jim,

I’m shooting a 46# R/D longbow. I have tuned in Beaman ICS Bowhunter 400 with a total weight of 630 gr. I have 225 Tuffhead with a 75 gr adapter and 50 gr inserts. My old Browning Wasp at 45# won’t shoot these arrows worth a hoot. dwc

For some reason it didn’t make sense for me to use a bow quiver. Nothing I can put my finger on, but I guess I figured I’d just snag the arrows on stuff or something. I bought a Safari Tuff, probably the Arrow Master. It’s been good. Works well. The carbons rattle a little if you don’t seat the broadheads firmly into the foam, but once done it’s quiet. I hang it next to me when I’m in the stand, so I can easily reach back for another arrow if needed. The side pocket holds a spare glove, string and knife. I tried putting a water bottle in it when I first got it and it threw the balance right out. Good product. dwc

I love reading about you guys collecting bows. My old Wasp is retired and I’m shooting my R/D longbow. I’m half afraid to pick up another bow and blow all the work I’ve done getting acquainted with my longbow! Good luck with it. Enjoy! dwc

Paleo, I know I’ve seen them when I wasn’t looking and now I can’t find one for nothing! Big rain here today, so I’ll head out in the a.m. for some stumping and looking about. dwc
