In the days that passed I have spoken with my acquaintance from the story and shared the same thing with him that I shared with all of you. I can say that the younger of the two individual, the one I know, is understanding and acknowledges the errors he made. Only time will tell what was actually learned. The individuals involved both have an open invitation to bow hunt with me during rifle and late archery seasons in PA. I pray they take me up on it. I think it could be an opportunity for them to continue to learn. Not that I will be the one teaching them. I’m sure we will be learning together. I still love that every time I enter the woods there is another lesson. I’m a continuous student.

I use 5.11 rain gear. Its a company that primarily builds gear for military and law enforcement. A lot of their stuff is just like you said “noisy” but they have a few soft shells that are very quiet. They also offer various camo patterns. its also a lot lighter than frog toggs. i have a pair of toggs too and i love them, but i bike to work every day and my 5.11 jacket fits in my pack almost with out me noticing. They are expensive but I’m going on ten years with my jacket.

I often carry a quiver full of judos in addition to my bow quiver of hunting arrows. You never know when a squirrel might decide to bark its head off at you. Its like a quiver full of squirrel mute buttons.

Looks really good. I have made scrappers out of a machete before but making a draw knife is pretty slick. Great Job!

I used to do that when i was younger . Anything straight and strong can be used as arrow shafting. However i would not hunt with them, at least not big game. they tend to break easily. Not to mention that the spine weight of and physical weight of the shafts can vary greatly. so go for it will at least get you started. if you just want to shoot some stumps, bunnies and squirrels
