      Duh …………… Why didn’t I think of that ??

      Got into a page with a ton of catalogs and found the ‘Tracer’ arrow. It wasn’t what I remembered, being mostly black & orange. Now I need to decide whether to go with that or the orange cap / yellow fletch / blue crest that I’ve found a Bow & Arrow cover shot of   Jim Dougherty using.

      Tough decisions.

        Just finished a Bambi Burger that I mixed in Johnsonville Italian Sausage instead of the usual fat.

        Mighty fine !!!

        May have to try that with a couple of JennyLopes just to see how it turns out.

          Found an ad Nov. ’71 Archery World for Easton with Jim Dougherty with the arrows I’m interested in but it’s in black & white.

          Close but no cigar.

              Mayhap it’s not the wax that’s too old. ???

              Try spraying Lemon Pledge on the offending parts.  Won’t help but at least you won’t smell like Ben Gay Ointment.

                Try string wax on your joints.

                  Lots of wolf sign;

                  Less elk ………. less deer …………. and very few turkeys.

                    Ok ………… Will try this again;

                    Unit 27 somewhat near Hannagan Meadow. Bow is a Black Swan 62# @ 28″ that I liked from day one and am liking more all of the time.  Arrows are old school 2213s with Zwickey 2 blades sharpened Hill style.  Slightly oversized shield cut 3 fletch.  Arrow flight is awesome with broadheads, blunts and field points grouping together at 60 yards. After shooting a lot of 3D shoots confidence was high on the buck broadside at 30 yards.  Double lung with the point poking out the off side after clipping a shoulder blade. Saw it go down after about 75 yards.

                      Arrrrrrggggg !!!!

                      Had a detailed equipment post and lost it with a ‘data base error’ when I went to submit.

                      Will try again later.

                        Thanx Robin.

                        My picture posting skills are lacking.

                        Needless to say, I’m a believer in the concept “Never pass up on the first day what you would shoot on the last day”.  The cape is going to be used for a novelty mount that I’ve wanted for a long time. I have a non/typical set of antlers painted high gloss jet black. Mount will have the ears laid back, mountain lion eyes and open mouth with bear jaws.  Or to use my wife’s favorite phrase “What is WRONG with you ????

                        I’m also a believer in not running out of blunts or broadheads but we can go over that in another thread if anybody cares to.

                        Never met this Grumpy rascal but if you’re ever shooting tournaments over this way holler & say ‘Hi’ and we’ll crack open a couple of root beers.

                          (Three inch spike [broken] on one side and a five inch spike on the other.

                            Try string wax on the loops.

                              in reply to: Feedback on bow. #147569

                              Back in the day, Browning made some fine bows. You can Google ‘browning archery company’ and get more info on them fading away.  Kinda sad.  I haven’t owned a Cobra but my Browning Explorer was pretty sweet.

                              “I really like the feel of that Cobra …………. ” Seems to me that that’s the feedback that really matters. I have a soft spot in my heart for the old retro recurves and a lot of those Golden Age bows will still hold their own with the new stuff. Sounds like you’ve got a winner; shoot the heck out of it.

                              >>>>>————> One thing, though; Stay with the older B-50 type string material and NOT the newer FastFlight stuff. Older limb tips just weren’t designed for it.

                                Even more uses …………………… Lacking a spare tip protector for the lower limb, I cut a strip about an inch wide & wrapped it onto the tip. Works great !!!!
