in reply to: Tradbows and Moose DVD? #59782
You might find lost antlers at 3 rivers. It’s been a while but I think I bought mine there. Good flick
in reply to: 70's kodiak mag #5713114 strand dacron. I haven’t plaid much with it but it does sound funny. I went back in and grabbed my self bow and it was silent. thanks . I will work with the brace.
in reply to: atv riding #54953I believe that some states back east have or are trying to get a handle on the atv situation but in the west it’s a mess. Don’t kid yourself we have hundreds of miles in the forest all on public land you could ride for months and not cover all the access that is open . You can hunt all day long with an atv it’s just that there is a bunch of folks that are fed up with the abuse. The animals here even hate them. Folks don’t know but you can be watching a herd of elk or deer and a atv can be coming up the road and you can watch these herds pack up and head out of the country.Just makes me walk farther.
in reply to: atv riding #54601T hit it right on the head. Thank you . In the west and I am sure every where ATVs are , it’s a night mare . They are I believe the biggest threat to the way we hunt and our public lands . This year in Idaho they finally came out with a map and they marked all rds but still folks drive any where they like and I still haven’t seen any fines. Not only do people drive all over the place but the garbage they leave behind is a disgrace . I am with T on this . I give ATVs a big thumbs down.
in reply to: ID Traditional Day — come if you can! #48978should be a lot different than the old big tent. Glad it stayed or is back in Idaho. Should be fun
in reply to: Where do you get your tradional supplies from #32605I have had some probs with 3 rivers and they admitted it but did nothing about which I found bothersom . I still use them but more and more I use smaller shops from Mt and receive great service.
in reply to: values of older bows #32587great question I just don’t have the answer. For the longest time you could find bows for 20 – $35 bucks now they are harder to find. I don’t know what these bows are worth but they have been fun collecting them.
in reply to: winter elk hunt #29887our seasons in Idaho start the last day in Aug and end the last day of Sept. I feel it not only is short but starts too early. It can be real hot. Then what happens we can hunt 1 unit the whole month of Dec. It is fun but can be hard , Lots of weather changes, soft powder snow to crunchy snow throw in some rain some sub zero temps Elk are moving into winter ranges ( lots of eyes ) and there you have it. It is fun though
in reply to: winter elk hunt #28179Sept is always the best and my choice for sure but I’ve always wondered why I never see anything written about late elk hunting???
in reply to: winter elk hunt #27614Oh I just took it for granite that most western states held a late archery season. Maybe Idaho is one of the only? That would answer a lot
in reply to: muck boots #23915Thanks to all. I have a pair of columbia boots for snow and they blew out in 3 yrs. I wear them for work and was wondering about the ups and downs of the mucks
in reply to: muck boots #22143I was out last night and a couple folks had them on and said they were great and I just happen to need a pair of boots. I had just finished my late elk , deer hunt and it is -11 and I had been hiking in knee deep snow so I looking into these and was wondering how they would perform. Thanks
