in reply to: Quarantine Archery Tournament #145899
Jim, thanks for all the work you put into this. Let’s see how this works out within our group and any friends you all can invite. Please remind them they need to sign up as a member on the site if they are not already.
I totally understand your option for the only prize being sweet, sweet pride, and I’m good with that. I’m looking forward to seeing how this all works out.
Mom/Queen? Ha ha
in reply to: Quarantine Archery Tournament #145882I’d be happy to throw in a couple of things for prizes. If you get the details together by Tuesday night, I can put something in this week’s tip email to see if anyone else would like to participate. Anyone who wants to do this would have to be a member on our site in order to post scores, comments, etc. in the forum. Might bring a bit of activity to the forums. I’m hoping that’s a good thing?
in reply to: What ya got goin'? 2 #145875The Three R’sketeers. I like that. I am so thankful for my fellow r’sketeers! There for a while we had a lot of spam posts and the guys helped me delete them quickly. Moderating the regular conversations isn’t necessary here, and I’m thankful that you all are so kind to one another. We need more of that in this world. Stay safe and healthy everyone!

in reply to: What ya got goin'? 2 #145829Jim, I was so happy to see your name pop up in our forums again! Welcome back. Sounds like the pig hunting is lots of fun.
in reply to: What ya got goin'? 2 #145794WOW!!! That’s a lot of honey for this early in the year. Way to go! I agree the cleanup takes almost as long as the extracting.
in reply to: Tip section ……………. paper tuning #145696Adding glue is a good idea. On Matt’s cheat sheet he indicated that you want your bare shaft to shoot slightly weak (nock left for a right handed shooter) as adding fletching tends to make it appear slightly stiffer. Your glue idea seems to be more exact.
in reply to: Tip section ……………. paper tuning #145692Thanks, Richard for telling me about the link snafu. I try to check those but obviously one slipped through the cracks. It’s fixed now. Here is the link: https://tradbow.com/tuning-101
As far as the question about canting your bow, I hope someone more knowledgeable chimes in, but I would think it doesn’t matter what angle your bow is at.

in reply to: Rivercane arrow shafts #144659Billy Berger also had a great article in our Jun/Jul 2018 issue. I can get you a copy if you need it.
Billy’s website is http://www.primitivepathways.com You might contact him and ask if he would trade when he has river cane shafts back in stock.
in reply to: 0% f.o.c ???. #144639😳🤔 That doesn’t sound right to me. We shoot woodies so can’t really try it. Anyone here able to mess around with a carbon or aluminum arrow to see if this has any merit?

He’s at home resting now and trying to find a way to get past Lori to go hunting. All of the updates and photos can be found on their Caring Bridge site.
