Longtrad, the minimum force to breach heavy bone is a lot lower than I had anticipated. In fact, I never reached it in the testing. If you will look at the 2008 Update, Part One, in the section on testing with the 40# recurve you will see that 100% of the above threshold weight arrows breached the bone. The lowest force arrow(s) in that testing carried only 0.368 Slugs of momentum (and only 22.09 ft.-lbs of KE). With a well tuned, structurally intact arrow having high overall arrow efficiency it’s far more about the Time of Impulse than it is about the arrow’s force.

I heat it up with a cigarette lighter keeping the flame away from the shaft and fletching then pull it off with a pair of pliers the knock will be hot dont grab it with your fingers! this should leave a pretty nice clean taper to glue your new knock on to. if necessary scrape off the glue residue on the taper. i tend to break a lot of knocks when practicing at close range.
in reply to: What ya got goin'? 2 #2263R2 are you on a phone or a computer? On a computer, you would click the image icon, then click the camera and navigate to the photo on your computer and select it, just like you would if you were attaching it to an email. Sorry if I’m confusing you. My previous post was for a phone.

I apologize if I have offended you. That was not my intent.
in reply to: Changes to Tradbow.com #38992If you are using an older Mac you might try using a different browser. Chrome seems to work well for a lot of people. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.
in reply to: Changes to Tradbow.com #25972I was wrong, that is the new site. But maybe clearing the cache or refreshing the page will work.
in reply to: Changes to Tradbow.com #25963That’s the old site. Do you have it bookmarked? Try to clear the cache by going to Develop > Empty Caches and then type in tradbow.com in the address bar. Let me know what happens.
in reply to: Ummmm…It be different #2177They need some work to put them on this site, so they will be coming soon.
in reply to: Changes to Tradbow.com #25047If you (or anyone else) is having trouble finding the login button, it’s in the “Member” drop down menu.
Remember, the first time you log in you have to go through the Lost Password option to set your password for the new site.
Thanks for the kind words, Dave.
in reply to: Ummmm…It be different #2172Ummm, yeah…the new headache is that your profile pic goes through Gravitar. I’m looking for a fix, but it will be later this afternoon.
The old forum is no longer available. All posts have been moved here.
A little more help for getting to the old forum and also for saving posts that you might want to keep.******To get to the old forum, scroll down past the Outdoor Chef section and click on the red bar that says Campfire Forum. That should take you to the login page, then the forum. If there are old posts you want to save, I can save them as pdfs for you.On my computer I can print, then choose “save as pdf”.On an iPhone, tap the square with an up arrow, then scroll the first set of choices until you see “Save PDF to iBooks” and tap on that.On my Android tablet (using Chrome browser) tap the three dots in the upper right corner and choose Share > Print and then Save as PDF in the upper left.I hope one of these helps you. Hopefully we can keep the old forum up for a while, but I’d like new conversations to start in the new forum. Post any questions you have. You might mention something to me that someone else is struggling with, just like this. I can take all those instructions and share with the other guys.I don’t like that you can’t get back to the other forum posts. I’ve added that to my list of things to fix. 😉Robin -
