Traditional archery is mainstream aawith those of us who already live the life. There will be many more that come onboard and find that it is the only way to enjoy bowhunting to the fullest. It isn’t something that is easily learned, but once we find it becomes a part of us.:)

😀 Got minee a week ago and I’m trying not to read it all in one day. I know my subscription is up in June 2011 so I’m goingto make sure I renew in time so as not to miss an issue. They seem like they take a long time to get here, but such a short time to read:cry:

I too will be heading out to my blind,Jon…Our archery season has been in since Sep. 25th and I haven’t had any action to speak of. My job has had me six days a week and haven’t been able to make as much time for hunting.:( But the rut is just around the corner and I’ll have to get out early on these mornings even though I work late the night before.
Good luck on the rest of your season and keep us posted. Wayne

Donate the compound to the club or whatever you were going to do with it! Quit having it to fall back on. Dedicate yourself to the traditional way fully and you’ll find yourself enjoying it more and working at honing your skills more. Everybody misses and the big ones are probably the hardest ones to take. But when it’s meant to be, it’ll happen. DON’T GIVE UP!

Welcome,Matt! I’d go with the advice to sell your compound and loo for a good custom bow. You can look in the classifieds here or on Stickbow.com. Jump in, you won’t regret it. You’re in good company.:)

Beautiful fall day here in Ohio. I’m getting ready to go out this afternoon and put in some time in my blind. Hope the deer are moving. On my way home from a dr’s appt., I had a doe run across the road just ten feet in front of my car. Whew!!! Guess maybe they are moving….Good luck to all you brothers and sisters out there.:D

I agree with Patrick about the forgiving nature of wooden shafts. Even if they aren’t perfectly straight they fly well. But I believe there was concern over whether or not they could be maintained in a wet climate…I believe that wood does well if properly sealed. I’m sure that some of the guys from the Pacific northwest that use wooden shafts couldn’t give some input here. As far as I’m concerned, there’s nothing like shooting wood. 😆 JMHO

Sorry to hear about the bear, sir. That thick ol’ fur of theirs tends to soak up the blood. Sounds as though you gave it your best effort at trying to recover the critter,Nate. That’s all you can do, so don’t beat yourself up for too long. Get back in the hunt!
