Thank you David. I have a similar tool that I have had great luck with. I just wanted to verify that we were talking about the same tool. Is it your preference to run the knife blade through the tool or run the tool over the blade?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Thanks David. Could you please either post a picture or lead me to a website that has a similar carbon V sharpener to what you are using.

I believe you are absolutely correct and stand corrected. I automatically think of archery as bowhunting and in this case a hunting bow may not be the correct path for you. I miss-understood the question. I would look at some of the Samick bows and follow the previous postings regarding first time/beginner bows.

You should check out the Samick Stingray from Lancaster Archery. I got one and love it. It has gotten great reviews from the traditional brethren.

in reply to: AZ e-z fletch #26400

EZ Fletch is a great easy fletcher. I do all my arrows with one. ADVISE: USE THE GEL-TYPE SUPER GLUE or the fletching tape. The thin runny type glue runs all over the arms and hinges of the fletching tooland the feather quills and causes a mess, while the thick gel glues stays put on the feathers.

I guess there are two spirit longbow bowyers. I have owned a couple of the Bryan Holley Spirit bows (granby, co) and the are fabulous shooters. Smooth, fast and zero handshock. Great craftsmanship. What more could you want?

I also enjoy chasing the mulies around. I shot a buck a few years back that was 265 dressed. They estimated the live weight to be around 325. Now that was a big boy! What area of the state do you hunt Dave?
