in reply to: Backpacks/Daypacks #60333
Thanks guys, It’s the fabric of shirt rubbing on the strap while drawing. I guess I need to re-visit my clothing now that I am carrying a daypack. Usually I am wearing cotton in the warmer weather? The padded straps on the daypack are the typical webbed style material. I have a fleece jacket for cooler weather, and I don’t notice the noise. Do you consider the fabric rubbing noise loud enough to spook game?
in reply to: Get a grip! #44508Notice how these thumbrests noticably protrude from the grips. This forces a consistent grip by putting your thumb in the same location every time
in reply to: Get a grip! #44391I find that as long as I have a thumbrest, I can adapt to any grip. I just ordered a new Maddog prairie predator long bow with a locator grip, but I am having a thumbrest put on it. It gives me consistent grip on the bow.
in reply to: bodnik bows #41171I can only go by the reviews, which are stellar. But one custom bow that is in a league of it’s own is the Maddog Prairie Predator. $225 for a custom bow!. I have shot it, and it compares equally to the Fedora longbow in every way. maybe a bit smoother, but 1/3 the cost. Finish might be a li’l rougher, but not by much. It’s worth checking out as a true working mans custom built bow by a class act Idaho bowyer,
in reply to: Backcountry College – Ultralight shelters #27069Great information! Does anyone know where I can get a nylon or other lightweight material sheet that has grommets on it? Like a 10’x10′ piece?
in reply to: Lost Season, Maybe Worse #23671Don, I feel your pain brother. September bow season in Colorado and I was sick with something similar to the flu for 10 days. 9 of those days I had vacation scheduled at work. A big bummer. Then rifle season rolled around and I was down with a severe bout of sinus infection. Now I started a late doe deer tag, but the weather has been in the high 80’s. The heat takes my hunting motivation away. At least the tag goes to end of January. Hopefully some hunting time before then.
May God bless you with a full recovery ~<
Call the main office of the BHA to find out how many payments you have to pay before the send out the firearm. In my case with the knife, they sent it out once I made 3 or 4 payments. I’ sure in the case of the firearm, the threshold is higher.

Go on the website and contact the main “office”. I think the can arrange a payment plan for any of the membership levels. They do it through paypal. However, I believe that you will need to complete x number of payments before they ship out the firearm.
That’s what I did 2 years back. $55/month for 18 months. Now you get a Kimber pistol. I got a Helle knife

in reply to: Super fast way to hang a stand #48036Nice, but you forgot the dog!
in reply to: Eye Glasses for Archery? #35411I had identical problem, was able to solve it by holding bow with less of a cant, near vertical. This keeps you from lowering your head a much to the string and keeps your face pointing towards target. Give it a try!!
in reply to: Kodak Challenge #155411994 whitetail buck. Last year hunting there before I moved to Colorado. Me and Good friend Gil Deel, on left tracked it in the morning after an evening liver hit. I tried tracking that night but I kept pushing it in front of me.
