in reply to: Backpacks for hauling meat… #33741T does that Crew Cab expand enough to take almost a whole elk in one trip or are you still only taking out pieces of the elk? It looks like it expands using straps have you had any reliability problems with hem.
in reply to: I might have my first Hunting Partner!!! #32731Congrats Donnie you got a keeper their. Enjoy the journey together.
in reply to: Backpacks for hauling meat… #32630The Gander Mountain has one big shelf at the bottom and then has a type of solid material with buckles to clip into the sides to support the meat so it does not fall off. The daypack I have from horn hunter has on both sides of it adjustable straps to put pieces of meat or other items in.
in reply to: I have to sit down to shoot… #32625I must be an oddball since if I try as suggested by gobbler i only see one fist not two. I think what maybe happening is while you are sitting Alex that you are not thinking about your shot as much as in the other positions so it delivers a more accurate result if that makes sense. The other alternative is that while sitting you are not running through your shot but taking your time which is allowing you to focus more on the shot which provides a better result.
in reply to: Backpacks for hauling meat… #32612Gander mountain frame for hauling large chunks of meat but I am going to try with the daypack i have to haul out the first piece if I get an elk.
in reply to: Arrow test details #31630Tom thanks for the info from all the testing and good luck hunting.
in reply to: New Kota Prarie fire! #31628Codger, you know a thread like this is worthless without pictures 😀
in reply to: "Elevated" rest.. #31625For the bump I would place in the center with more at the middle then feathering away to both front and back at least this is the way my Bob Lee is designed and shoots nicely. I don’t have link to show its done, will try and look for you later today.
in reply to: Congratulations Dave Petersen! #31624Dave, congrats on the award well earned. Does this mean you are driving all the way to Denver in the middle of elk season for an award 😀
in reply to: "Elevated" rest.. #31560I went and looked at the photos for a PSE coyote to get a frame of reference as to what might be happening for you and from what I see the riser is a flat piece of metal for a shelf it looks to me like they were almost wanting you to put an elevated test on it. SO if you want to shoot off the shelf you might need to build it up instead of toothpicks which might work I have found hard leather works well such as the one in the link below

Hope this helps.
in reply to: Quiver options #31552As a follow update I took my new HornHunter daypack with side quiver out elk hunting and I love it a lot. Very comfortable to wear and the quiver carried my arrows in a great spot and did not move around. I think I am going to start recommending these pack to everyone that ask.
