That’s great news Cameron! Go get hunting!
in reply to: Measuring Up #47855I’m glad there are others out there with similar views of hunting. Sometimes (usually when I pick up the big hunting publications, or watch a hunting show) I get overwhelmed and disgusted with hunters when the focus is only on killing big bucks.
Happy to make your acquaintance on here Steve.

Great idea Steve!
in reply to: After the Hunt #47562Yeah sure does feel good Steve. I wish we could age deer out here. It’s just too warm and humid by the coast for me to leave it outside. The flies are active all year. And we don’t have a walk in meat cooler.
Good looking steak Alex! Venison? Or did someone give you elk on your last hunting trip?
in reply to: Colorado '15 #45232Sounds like a great hunt Alex! I got to spend a few days in the elk woods this past weekend. Got to take my wife out there with me too, and we were able to get in close enough to hear elk talk but not see them! I’ll be heading back next week for some serious hunting though.
in reply to: Arrow weight #44519Kiwi,
I shoot a 700 grain arrow out of a 55lb longbow. Since I started using a clicker on my bow, my accuracy has improved dramatically. Sometimes I can group my arrows inside the kill zone of a deer at 35 yards, some times not. The arrow weight doesn’t affect my accuracy, my form did though. BUT I’d never take that long of a shot anyway. I keep my shots inside 15 yards.
Have fun on your adventure!

in reply to: How we sharpen our broadheads. #37380Yeah KME to get them ready for the season. But I carry a pocket diamond stone if I need to touch them up in the field on longer trips.
I just watched an old Fred Bear hunt, and they show the hunters sitting around camp putting the final sharpening strokes on their broad heads with… files.
in reply to: Untamed – Online now #26590Great video. You really articulate the “why” of hunting in ways I struggle to find the words. I’ll be passing this around. Thanks for putting all the time and energy into this for all of us.
in reply to: Heading to the Mountains #60548Sounds like a great trip!
in reply to: Untamed by Clay Hayes to be released Aug. 17 #33832Hey, really looking forward to watching this!
in reply to: Greetings and Hello #26329Hey Kris, welcome to the site and enjoy shooting!
in reply to: Longbow 276 compound 249 #25278My friend recently switched from a compound to a longbow and just plain enjoys shooting more now. Nothing to do with what is better or more efficient or etc. He has fun shooting his longbow and was not having fun shooting the compound. Actually, after sighting in the compound he didn’t even shoot it much.
Nice shooting! Love 3D events.
