This thread reminded me…I had intended to join Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, but I had some issues arise, and my thoughts went elsewhere. I live in Michigan, in an area that is almost exclusively private land. One square mile blocks, and people STILL drive to hunting blinds with their trucks or ATVS! I watched the video on that site. I was fully expecting the elk hunter to shoot the guy on the ATV! I would’ve been tempted.

Edit: I just re-read my post, and it’s written as though I’m under the impression BH&A would assist with private land. That’s not what I meant. I was just giving another example of how lazy many hunters have become.

Well, I’m not a “facepainter”, so I had to peak since I wasn’t suppose to :-).
It really does look like good stuff. One problem i have with my ABS facemask is when I cover my nose, it fogs my glasses. I also have a Spandoflauge facemask that doesn’t do that, BUT the texture is annoying. Sooo…I’m going to give your stuff a try.

              Steve Sr.,
I’ve gotta say, I think this is the first post I’ve seen of yours that isn’t long enough to be a novel! 😆

If your using a hang-on, I’d go with “climbing sticks”. Otherwise, I recommend a climbing tree stand.

                  Nice buck!

Ya know, until I became interested in traditional archery I would have never dreameed that a pass through was possible with traditional equipment. I think it would shock most compound shooters.

I’m not one to give advice, switching as I did, only a few years ago. Just wanted to say welcome. I can totally relate to “the itch to keep it simple.”

100% my dad. He really is the best whitetail hunter I know. He really took the time to learn their behaviors, etc., not just dump a pile of bait and wait like so many people do.

I’ve pretty much exclusively hunted from a tree stand the first 20 years of bowhunting. I always thought climbers were to restrictive. I figured they were only useful none of the trees in area had limbs. I was wrong. My dad just bought one, and he loves it. And to tie it into your question…they are very safe/secure. You can raise or lower the upper part to give you more clearance or more security. If go with a Lone Wolf if I was spending your money 🙂

You’re gonna laugh, but I use this for both a portable blind, and when it’s raining hard. I can still wear breathable clothing, while it’s pouring, so I’m not boiling in my own juices. It’s worked great so far, but I’ve just begun using it this year (for hunting). Got the idea from a backpacking/hiking guru:
                            http://www.blind9golf.com/gustbuster-golf-umbrella-camouflage.html

As an aside, I don’t like the idea of being cooped up in a blind. It works perfectly for that.

Then I’LL agree to disagree. You can do whatever you want. You could start your own organization. You could call it the National Right To Bare Arms And Other Issues Association. Your motto could be: “Staying out of politics to keep from getting too entrenched”.

By the way, I prefer the Gun Owners of America, NO compromise stance on gun rights.

This is my last post on this. You get the last word 🙂

You can’t be serious. We have argued that very point. The NRA backs gun rights supporters. Not Republicans, not Democrats, not capitalists, not conservations, etc, etc. Gun supporters are mostly Republicans. Right or wrong. That’s how it is. There are some Democrats that the NRA backs…those that support gun rights. I know you disagree. Let’s just agree to disagree.
