in reply to: Would you shoot a bedded animal? #45461
I don’t think I’d have a problem with it. All other rule apply, of course. But what could be better than a peaceful death in its sleep. I hope I’m so lucky! best, dwc

in reply to: Daypacks and Binos #38860My binos (B&L 7 x 26 ) came with a long shoe string sort of strap. It’s nylon and flat, but thin. I wear it over my neck and shoulder and it lies on my side by my belt, out of the way. The nylon strap slides to let me pull the binos up for glassing and then back out of the way. I tie a loop in the strap if I want to wear them closer, up on my chest for birding and scouting. I’ve looked at different harnesses, but it seems like to much extra stuff. dwc
in reply to: Paper Tuning Results – 10/4/14 #38855I put off paper tuning until this past summer. I bare shafted until it seemed like everything was flying right. This summer I thought I should take a look to see if I was missing anything. I ended up with nice round holes and little tears where the feathers went through. It was a nice confirmation.
Nice job with yours. dwc
in reply to: Sloooow Start, but Great Evening #38792Alex,
That’s a great encounter. I had one in my pre-bow, flintlock days. I was sitting up against a big white pine watching the woods surrounding a little clearing about 15 yards wide. With no previous indication the edges flat out erupted in does bounding out into and out of that clearing. It was like a circus for two seconds then it was over. Wild. One little doe was curious enough to come back to see what the fuss was about. She went into the freezer. You remember those times. Good luck out there for you, too! best, dwc
in reply to: Sloooow Start, but Great Evening #37992That’s terrific. I keep saying that once I get one in the freezer, I need to get on the ground and give it a shot. I’ve been really tight on time this year, but like so many things, if you don’t just do it full out, it won’t happen. Best of luck! dwc
in reply to: November Rovin' #37585Smithy, nice job again. Nice camera work, nice shooting, nice music. thanks, dwc
in reply to: Totally Traditional #37580Looks like you’re getting all the pats on the back you need here. I don’t think you’ll regret your decision to sell. If you feel you struggle a little bit to get the same kind of accuracy, you’ll just have to shoot a little more. What could be wrong with that? Have fun. dwc

in reply to: Sloooow Start, but Great Evening #37567The buck was just way too close, too steep and angle. He was bewildered by it, too. It’s just been that kind of season. dwc
I’m happy to only have to out run possums in my woods! dwc
in reply to: ATV wheelie #36283That’s a beauty. I have to say… before AND after photos are needed here! dwc
in reply to: Ground Hunnting #24856Hey Smiley! Good reason to be smiling. That’s terrific. Sounds like you’re hooked now. I’ll be in trees for a bit, but maybe later in the season I’ll go to the ground. Thanks for the inspiration, dwc
in reply to: string slap #17848You can also rotate the bow slightly in your hand to move the string away from your arm. Dwc
