I’m with 48. Way out there, your concentration is really tuned. I wish with worked so well for me. My accuracy continues to degrade as I back off! dwc

I did get a few minutes with it. It’s not quite so daunting as the number of pages would imply. Not a lot of surprises so far. Nice to see that hunting is #1 approved method of management. More to look over. Thanks for putting that link up, Dave. dwc

I’ll be looking at that. Thanks for the post. dwc

Wow, 1506 pages… I won’t get back to you tonight!

            Hi Alex,

I have a job on Saturday, otherwise I’d come out then and bring the kids. It would be great to meet up and get introduced. If you ever want to go stumping in the Poconos, let me know. Have a good time, dwc

I agree completely. If I need not other proof, all I need to do is look at my shots at 25 yard vs my shots at 20 and under. It tells me that 15 yards is plenty. The ethical consideration is huge, but also the desire to be a good enough woodsman to get close. It’s a big picture. I’ll keep putting longer range shots into my practice and I’ll keep on trying to get closer in my hunts.

                    All the best, dwc

How about this… Col Mike, get some tickets and post your address. Anybody who wants in can send the price of admission and with a self-addressed stamp envelope for their stub. If you’re generous enough to donate the bow, I’d say you’re honest enough to do the drawing. Anyone who doesn’t trust the system doesn’t have to play. Run the thing until you figure you’ve sold enough to make it worthwhile. Keep the tickets at about $5 and you should sell a bunch. If it goes long enough you’ll have guys sending in for a ticket a week!

Darn nice of you to offer up the bow. Very nice thought to support a great project. dwc

I wanted to move these back up front, too. Thanks for your help with this Robin. Good stuff. dwc

I’m all for trying to hunt as close as possible. That said, I also believe in practicing long shots as well as close. I keep most of my stumping shots under 20 yards, but I’ll move back when shooting a bag target. Not real far, but 25-35 yards. Then I move up and the groups are 15 yards are tight. It makes you work your form. Good medicine. dwc

                                Hi George,

I dug this video up to watch again. Very nice. One thing that strikes me is that you’re confident enough to put your camera on top of the bale even for 40 yard shots. I think I’d put it behind an old windshield if I was doing the shooting. Thanks for putting up your videos. best, dwc

I started with two yellow hens and a barred yellow cock feather and now I’m all yellow due to being cheap. The arrows have the bright green nock. They are pretty easy to find, but it’s amazing how well they can still hide, even right in the open. Give me some dappled sunlight in the woods and the arrows practically evaporate. I tried painting a shaft yellow once and I’m not sure that helped a bit. A good dog that can sniff arrows is the biggest help. dwc
