Outstanding!
Success in a difficult hunt in hard country! and that young cow will be excellent table fare! Two arrows? sounds like you wanted to be sure she didn’t get away -haha.
A great time in the High Country–

Very well said —
I believe a lot of us forget — even with it’s foibles – what a wonderful place the USA is, and we always have to be on guard and prepared to defend it. Especially if we want to maintain this interesting, diversified, and wonderfully different coalition of people! Hopefuly they mostly feel the same way, and want to continue the original ideals of freedom, and the republic—-

in reply to: Bowsocks ?? #23153I use the Camo Form by “Mcnett”, great stuff -does not stick to bow- non reflective. It can be found at some of the big retailers [ sportsman’s warehouse etc]or on the internet. it is the Camo form of the med Bandages [coban- self adhesive]used today. It does not effect the bow’s cast and one can put a strap on Bow Quiver over it [ which will not move].It is pricey – but lasts over a year+. No scent on the above company’s product.

in reply to: 1 finger over vs. 3 fingers under #15865I shoot short bows almost exclusively now, 56″and under.
I prefer split finger, mostly because I feel it gives me better control of the arrow during hunting. The final movements to position {stalk etc] for the shot , when preparing for the shot, during the shot, and follow thru upon release- for me. I also over the years have come to do what Dave describes – most of the string pressure is on my middle finger right under the arrow.
But I believe one should shoot “any style” that allows one the most consistent hits. If just starting out, try them all and stay with the one you like best. They all work, if done properly

in reply to: CA Removes Fish and Game President #11324Yes the full facts are in order [rarely trust any- especially only one news story].
I noticed the story implied an impropriety – that the hunt was some form of gratuity –the CA readers responses are interesting too – sounds very political —

What I really like about YOUR version of the RMR is the slim,
look and svelte flow of all the parts. truly a beautiful amalgamation of form – function –
and you picked gorgeous wood to boot

in reply to: let go of my insert! #9605Ditto troy’s response —
I have done the same thing to pull inserts from carbons of any of the “standard” companies who sell carbon arrows – with no problems — in fact a lot of times in the “Heat” of the SW{summer} just trying to pull arrows out of —ahh– poor hits in wood
tgt frames — has caused the inserts to depart -the shaft—

in reply to: light arrow Extreme FOC #9582Gigglemonk —
You are hard on the track —
650grs+arrowweight and 20%+ Efoc are the start numbers –“proceed sirs” from there—
The reason for the steel/brass Inserts/adapters etc -is arrow integrity — so it all stays together when the going gets tough — if you analize most of your arrow failures [broken when/ hitting game/ hunting]in the “olden times” {pre Doc Ashby} the Bh broke off [alum adapts/inserts].

wraps are for “pretty” and so you know I love Beautiful Bows & arrows – but that is secondary to efoc, if that is what you are trying to attain!
in reply to: Mystery Solved #7890Mr Graf
It was in “Winter Respite” By TJ Conrads, Apr/May 12.
I had mentioned that the locals { I hunt and Have friends in the area], all said what your article mentions, and Mr Conrads did also { He originally – of course in the art }. Marfa has become quite the little art colony. Not exactly what one would expect for the “Blood and Thunder Reputation of the Big Bend of Texas.
