            Hi Wahoo

Don’t know what it might be. Most of his bows are fashioned after 1st Nation bows.. you can pull up a 3 part video about him on utube….

He used to live in Grants NM. Don’t know if he still does. Might try calling this no # 505 287 8134 ?. I dont think he has a web site.

Looking forward to what you determine with your future point testing.

Watch out for ” rattlebugs”  ….

I think you should “truncate” some points and run them against “std” points at the longer distances on your field range…. nothing like having good empirical data….

Good to see you are still out there expeditioning about… are you still working with the folks building tuffheads? Bought some more of the tgt points from them a while back.

Sounds like you had a great time. Did you ask some of those folks why they aren’t around the forums much anymore  ? I geuss this style of forum is too primitive ? Like tradbow !? Haha. Sorry couldn’t help it.

I am on Facebook ( sort of ) to see what some of my friends are up to. Don’t do Instagram…..too many venues out there for me

                        Ditto dwc on competitions ;

whatever everybody likes— but what usually happens ( firearms too) they become an equipment / adjust the rules race for what wins. Which is fine, for those interested.  I used to shoot the matches periodically for the fun / shooting under stress trng. Whatever floats your boat. I mean that sincerely…

I think true traditional in my mind is what can be made by hand from natural materials. Not being a Bowyer I have to get somebody to  build a bow for me. Not being completely interested in the true primitive ( stone points etc), I am ok with steel points, fiberglass and some of the newer strings materials… Uh oh— I am heading down the slippery slope?… don’t worry i’am stopping before we get to compounds, haha.. I like Carbon arrows for some scenarios ( efoc) in hunting. However Steve made a valid point on carbons, (a while back)lack of biodegredation capability ( and aluminum) in lost arrows hunting, which has got me reconsidering their use…..It reminded me of hunting on the channel islands in the olden times ( off CA ) great hunting BUT , it was bad press for bowhunting as there was used / broken / discarded arrows littering some areas as time went on.  I started carrying a bag to haul em off….

It seems to me more people are interested in the gadgets and the kill, than in woods/ archery skills and the more primitive ( challenging) experience…when asked why I shoot / hunt trad  I emphasize the last sentence without admonishing the newer stuff in hopes of educating / influencing people towards our discipline.  Not sure how good iam doing since I see less and less trad bow Interest…..one Step at a time I guess.

Most of the time if i’am shooting well — I don’t think about it at all,  just concentrate on the spot.

If I start to do poorly, I analyze, figure out what I am doing wrong and work on the problem. Most of the time for me it’s the release…..

Good to see your post……I was worried you might have ” gone under “. I am glad to see you are still kickin, and thinking about the next hunt. We old geezers gotta keep moving forward,  even if it’s a bit slower than in the past….

Best wishes to all —-Have a wonderful 4th of July holiday—remember all those folks in the past who sacrificed for it. Go easy on the fireworks please, if you live out here in the west especially — fire danger is pretty extreme this summer…

I don’t have any experience with that model, but Howard Hill bows have a good rep. Sounds like the bobcat is just the huckleberry for your needs. If you decide to get it, come back and give us a review

                              Good luck

Greatjob on tuning up the wood arrows. It can be a long road sometimes…

I mostly shoot wood arrows anymore for the reasons you mention.

Are you turning your own hickory shafts ? I noticed there are a couple outfits selling them .

I think the next arrows I build will be hickory. I haven’t tried hickory yet, and if there as tough As I have heard ,might be just the ticket here in NM

What Richard said…..I have an “old” bitzenberger that works fine.

I would go with the company recommendation.  They know best what they make them for ….
