I have found some great deals for wool and flannel on ebay. Although I own a couple Asbel and Ron LaClair pull overs that are my favorite.
in reply to: Curious about numbers of deer most shoot. #45703Here in Michigan we can get two buck tags, the first tag can be any buck with amtlers taller then 3 inches the second buck has to be 4 or more points on one side.
In my county we can shoot does until the kill quota is met for that area, which is usally way to liberal. It is on a first come basis until all the tags are gone.
I used to average about 3 to 4 deer a year, but now that the kids are moved out and they have kids of there own, I usally only shoot 1 deer a year now. I just don’t have any room in the freezer anymore with my kids and grand kids all hunting:lol:

in reply to: How’s the outlook for deer in your area? #41573Here in central Michigan the out look is the best we have seen in years even with our liberal doe tags. The corn and apple crops are healthy as can be. We have apple trees that have not had apples for years, but this year they are all over. Then the white oaks in our area are dropping acorns like rain. We have seen numerous bucks in our front field and one buck was over 20 inches. Unlike our economy in this state the harvest forecast looks grrreat!

in reply to: Barta on techno-BS #40215Well we know no body can please everyone but if we are honest about it I think all of us have taking some “un-ethical” shots or have bent the rules of good conservation once or twice. Of course we don’t put in on the big screen for everyone to see our flaws and mistakes.
But what really cracks me up, if people ever watched some old Fred Bear videos or read some books that Fred or Glenn St. Charles wrote on there hunting trips, these guys would be labeled as out laws.
We just need to have a little more grace with one another and concentrate on the things we do have in common.
in reply to: Let's see your fall hunting set up! #40203I have two main set ups one for stand sitting and one for stalking and still hunting, this is my heavy duty stand sitting set up. Bear Kodiak Super K, 60in bow – 63lbs – shooting Easton Axsis 400’s tipped with 220 grain Grizzly El Grande’s. These 3 arrows where shot at distance from 20, 30 & 40 yards.
in reply to: Cheap targets #40130another great target that are cheap and fun to shoot at our your kids rap CD’s:P
in reply to: Help for a new longbow shooter #40125I have a friend that shoots a 55lb Bear Montana with a 28in draw. He shoots 2018’s with 125grn and they fly great out of his bow.
