Alex,
The BBA run the bowhunting safety course next door in Britain so I hope to do that next year and hopefully head off for a hunt after that. Unfortunately, I’m now on reduced working hours so all plans are a bit reined in for a while.
in reply to: Samick "Red Stag" one-piece recurve #24283Another Samick fan here. Been shooting a hybrid Samick Sage/Polaris for a couple of years and love it. Now I had to do some minor fixes on the bow such as tightening up the limb pockets, filing down string nocks and the like, but the bow is cheap and shoots just fine for newbies and those on a budget just like me. Enjoy the redstag, I think Justin or someone else on here has one too.
in reply to: First Miss With Trad Gear #20856Bummer, but without being cliched, at least it was a clean miss.

Yep, I got that feeling too 🙁
in reply to: Pineywoods longbow doe #20850Handi if you make it down to the south east you’ll have to give me a shout. Some stumping followed by a few pints – who could ask for more?! Although your wife might have other ideas 😆

Other than TBM, I have heard very little about archery overseas (with the exception of Africa of course), especially traditional archery. If I’m not mistaken, Germany does not allow archery hunting at all. Anyway, do you make it out of the country to hunt? If so, how does it compare?
Be well,
Alex
😀
Alex, no bowhunting here I’m afraid but I’m a keen archer and aspiring bowhunter who’s putting the scratch together to head abroad for a bowhunt in the not too distant future, I hope. See link in my signature for details on trying to change this situation next door in Britain. But in recompense I do a lot of fishing and some shotgunning so not all bad!
in reply to: Archery Show… #18791Some great shooting in those vids. Thanks guys!
in reply to: The Howatt Takes Another! #14264Jeez Etter, that is some hole alright! And I was literally just browsing the 3Rivers catalogue that arrived today musing over how effective those Simmon’s heads would be 8)

Nice shot! There’s a bit of an astronomer lurking in me and I’m always keeping an eye out for different phenomenon. I spotted a pair of sun dogs the other day, only trouble was I was on the motorway which my wife quickly reminded me of when she saw me driving along staring at the sky 🙄
in reply to: Burgers – Don Thomas Style #13204Hope everything works out ok Don. We’ll keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. From reading one of your books I kind of feel like I know you guys, guess that’s your intimate and personal writing style.
