in reply to: short bows #58232Maryland crabs are great. Have been down Easton, St. Michaels way a number of years back. Great seafood dinners down there. I have a 29 1/5 inch draw and shoot a Bear Super Magnum 48 and dont experience stacking unless I am too dumb to Know the difference. I love to hunt with these short bows. Anybody else have anything to share?
in reply to: ask the experts #55756That is what I am trying to do. I guess I just got lucky with my current set up I tuned with field tips and didnt need adjustment for my broadheads. This whole EFOC is new to me and whenever I try something new I tried to learn fromthose who have been there. I dont know any trad. archers so this has been a great site to learn. my arrrow set up with the 100gr inserts and 200gr field tips are flying great so I am ready to move to the next step and try some grizzly el grandes or steel force heads. these heavier arrows to have smaller fletch and fly great. I think you are on to something Steve Sr.
in reply to: ask the experts #54093I am getting some great info thank you all for your help.
in reply to: ask the experts #52722Thanks Steve. my arrows with the inserts and field tips are flying much better thananything else I have used so far and also more forgiving of lapses in form. What bh would you recommend I try? I love the Ashby’s but dont want to plunk that much money down while i am still experimenting. No Mercy,Steel Force, Grizzly El Grande? Any other?
in reply to: Grizzly El Grandy Sharpening #52539Great information but after being honest with myself and my capabilities with sharpening this may be beyond me. ABS makes a single bevel sharpener do you think it would work with the Grizzly’s?
in reply to: Tell Us About Your Username #51899I am serious. if you dont like it I can change it to ………… S
in reply to: ask the experts #51851ok so if I get good flight with field tips and wild flight with big broadheads how do you get the big broadheads to fly true?
in reply to: Tell Us About Your Username #51730Not good at making up usernames so I hit a key at random.
in reply to: short bows #51412Good luck with you mulie. Not sure how we got on shrimp but yes they are tasty. Are you using any type of efoc setup with your short bows? what is it? I love the Ashby broadheads but not the price do you know of a good alternative to at least use as a trial before I plunk down that much cash?
in reply to: short bows #49315I will look for that article, thanks for the info. I dont know why someone would want to use a long bow either so much nicer to hunt with a short bow. I hear about stacking not really sure what it is. I keep hearing about stacking and people tell me I should be experiencing it but if I am it doesnt seem to bother me. bottom line I seem to shoot it well and I am having fun.
in reply to: short bows #49159I have not heard of that bow is it custom? Is it your main hunting bow? Any luck with it this year? I have killed 1 doe and a squirrel so far this fall have mot seen a decent buck yet. I live in Ohio and our season runs to the end of January.
in reply to: Any other Bear Archery enthusiasts here? #41436I have 3 Bear recurves. 1 Black Bear 40# I got this bow for my 10th birthday. 2. 52# kodiak mag 3. 55# super magnum 48.
I love the super mag it is my main hunting bow killed my first deer with it this year. All my bows are from the early 70’s. if interested there are hundreds of them along with quivers broadheads etc on Ebay. I watch it everyday. -
