We are having another beautiful day in the Northwest Territories, lots of snow and clement weather…..nice.

I would like to talk a bit about this incredible broadhead, the ABS 150 grain Maasai. When I first seen it, I said to myself, ” that blade has an amazing power curve to it !!!”, and after shooting it for the first time on my set up, it flew identical to my field points.

I was so impressed with them that I called Garrett Schlief and asked him if I could, on their behalf, give 4 of them away on this site and he immediately said yes. He was actually pretty excited about the idea too πŸ™‚

With that being said, ABS are very happy to give them away 4 – 150 gr Maasai broadheads in form of a draw to a lucky winner that I will draw in a week’s time, November 20th at this time. So put your names in the hat and I can tell you that your going to be pretty impressed when you do see them in person.

Count me in. I have been trying two other types of broadhead this season and still have not settled on anything yet. Indeed I have been thinking about the Masai but it seemed like the Magnus Stinger was much cheaper. Hoping I win and thanks to ABS and you for putting it together.

HalfaHun here- count me in the drawing if you would be so kind- talked with Ed Schlief the other day about Dr. Ed Ashby and different aspects of the Ashby broadhead- diamond ferrule and tapered blade thickness- He said he had to go to China to get them made to his specs as no American company would commit to cost and more importantly, quality control- welcome to the 21st century-what a bloody shame. His new 3-piece longbow is in development at WinWin of Korean archery fame- solid carbon riser with limbs designed by O.L.Adcock- save your yuans! Great guy with an ethical company- read the interview with Brian Sorrells esp. the purple bathrobe, plywood antlers and the moose in his yard!

I’m delighted to say that another person wanted to add a few more smiles to this draw and is adding 2 full length Alaska Bowhunting Supply Sitka Grizzlystik arrows. So that means that the winner will be sent these two shafts to shoot the Maasai heads.

A big thank you to the donator of the arrows πŸ˜€

That’s actually one of the “wider” heads that I thought of trying and if being a “previous winner” is not a disqualifying factor, I’d appreciate my name added as well.

I tried out the others and “payed them foreward” to another hunter.

      God bless

Good on you Steve !! Sharing what is kind and positive can only bring the same forward with friends, family and people. I know for a fact these little gems will put a great big smile on their recepient’s face.

And I have to thank that great fella for donating a couple of Grizzlystik Sitka’s too, a man with a big heart….

      Keep the names coming πŸ™‚

I would like to start by wishing everyone a great day and awesome week-end. Wow, the turn out was overwhelming, I didn’t think there was going to be this many people adding their names for the Maasai broadhead draw.

I will draw the lucky winner in a few hours but I have to tell you thank you again.

I personnaly believe that in the world we live in today, we can truly make a difference with the people around us by sharing the simplest of gifts, a smile.

The smiles and heartfelt welcome my family has received from all of you traditionalists has made a positive impact in our lives, thank you so very much.

I have the Abowyer head that is shaped similar and am having a problem with whistling. Do the Massai have the same problem? If not please include me in the drawing as I have not been satified with the no mercy or abowyer heads.

Halfahun — I just have to ask: Which half?:D:lol::P:lol: Sorry, but it’s that “silly” time of evening. Safe to assume it’s the upper half what pulled those amazing 100-pound short horn recurve bows. The bottom half of a Hun, of course, was a horse! The Comanche’s of Asia: the two greatest “tribes” of horseback archer warriors who ever lived. Snuffy

    • Bert
      Post count: 164

Snuffy-HalfaHun because I’m half-hungarian on my father’s side of the genome and the other half because I pull a 50# longbow-i.e. one-half a hundred! Although a Christian by choice lately the Attila the Hun side has somewhat more influence due to the perilous and dismal times we find ourselves imbroiled in- but they’ll have to pry my “assault” bow from my cold dead fingers! After the various rifles, shotguns, muzzleloaders and handguns!
The Mongols were Masters of the Bow too, along with a few thousand Englishmen at Agincourt, Crecy and Poitiers-LONG LIVE THE BOW!and God’s grace to the archers that pull them.
