in reply to: Longbow Turkey #57512
Man that has me fired up. I’m doing my first turkey hunt in May. Congrats!!!!:D
in reply to: IT WORKED!!!!! #52765I’m working on quite the pile myself. That initial “crack” on the tree is TERRIFYING. 😆
in reply to: New to me Schulz longbow #48805They are great bows. Lovvveee mine!
in reply to: What broadheads do you like? #45221I’m a whitetail man and prefer dual bevel 2-blades. I’ve shot several and had luck with Ace and Eclipse. The Eclipse take a lot more punishment and I love their lifetime guarantee and coating.
I’ve played around with a Wenzel Woodsmen as well, but haven’t had a chance to stick anything with one yet. I think I’m going to try one on a bird in May.
in reply to: wool or camo? #45207I’m a wool man.

in reply to: Upland Game Hunting #33901A few years ago, on my very first deer hunt, I was sitting on the edge of a little clearing, and a partridge unknowingly landed within five yards of me. It sat there for about 5 minutes.
I didn’t shoot it for fear I would spook deer in the area. Had I known then what I know now…I wouldn’t have hesitated. I’ve been chasing partridge ever since, and have yet to see one in time to get my bow up and take it on the ground or on the wing.
A partridge may be my ultimate trophy with a bow.
in reply to: It is almost time! #33789Oh boy…I WISH I were ready.
This little princess arrived 3 weeks ago, and everything from the labor plus the pregnancy leading up to it has been a rollercoaster of stress. My wife was on bedrest for several weeks, which really had me running around. I haven’t even had a chance to scout my public stomping grounds. I’ve shot my bow and made my hunting arrows, that is about it.
I did manage to make my first self bow, which was quite the achievement for me! Had I made it earlier in the year I would be hunting with it. I’m just not confident with it yet. Too late in the summer to make the switch.
On another note, I’ve been asked to be in Season III of Huntography, which has me both honored, but extremely nervous. I’ll be the only Stickbow hunter on the DVD, and the first one ever filmed for the Huntography movement.
I’ll be hunting with a wheelie bow friend on private land and insisted I would be on the ground, as stands give me the heebie-jeebies. The hunt will be on November 16, which is opening day of gun season. We didn’t figure public land to be a good fit with that in consideration. It should be interesting to say the least!
I hope I make you all proud.
It does feel like THAT time of year. God is great. Life is beautiful. I can’t wait to get back into the woods, as I am in need of some serenity. The deer are optional as far as I am concerned.
in reply to: New bow and Quiet Back Quiver #48989Cocobola and bloodwood are a great combination my friend. Both of my Bamas have cocobola in them. I’m trying to stay away from it on my next bow but I don’t know if I can!
Very very sharp bow!!
in reply to: With A Heavy, Heavy Heart #48985I am truly sorry to hear about that. I can’t imagine. God bless!
in reply to: New Quiver and Armguard – Rasher Quivers #43600Thanks guys. It is important to coordinate before entering the woods.
in reply to: Who Hunts Alone Most of the Time? #39938I hunt with my Dad when I can but he lives 3.5 hours North so I’m by myself on public land most of the time. Unfortunately, I’m seldom alone. Michigan public land is fairly crowded these days.

I’m stumped as to what the problem is. I’m not very familiar with the Android OS so if anyone else has input we’d appreciate it. I find the “zip” file does not work well on my mobile devices (Apple) but the straight pdf does. Is there an app you can download to read pdfs? Can you read other pdf files? Mine opens in my browser, then I can transfer to my book reader.
Let me know if any of this helps. 😕
That is what I don’t understand Robin. I’ve got the same PDF reader I had on my iPod and it won’t download directly. I think I have to download it and then drag it into my phone’s drive. I’ll try that tonight and let you know. Great issue by the way!!!
in reply to: Side Quiver #51095I’m still waiting for someone to make a quiver that works well with JUDOs or bladed blunts.
in reply to: Side Quiver #51094I haven’t tried that model but found a similar one on evil-bay the other day for $45.00. I should have popped on it.
I’m in the same boat. I hate all of my quivers and end up going back to a bowquiver. But, I don’t want to use a bowquiver because my Barta Blunts and Bunny Busters don’t work with them well. I have to turn the arrow around and stick the nock in the foam and that messes up the fletching.
I’m convinced that a side quiver of some kind is the way to go and considered the GFA. Not my thing. I’m thinking something like this or a side draw tube quiver (Dawgware, Timo, etc) is the way to go. Even when I deerhunt I pull the quiver off my bow and sit it next to me.
