in reply to: Short Longbows? #40777Hybrids are awsome! I shoot 58 inches at 67lbs 29-30 inch draw. From what people are saying here I think I’d like to go shorter. I like the ground. I always fall out of trees and break bones. LoL!
in reply to: string lenght #40746Find a starting point like four inches less than bow length like Greatreearcher said. Then adjust brace height by twisting or untwisting string untill your arrow flies true. If the arrow strikes to the right of centre (Right hand Shooter) Increase brace height. To left Decrease Brace Height. (Opposite for left hand shooter) I hope that helps you out.
in reply to: GOT A NEW BOW…… #40691Hey bear!
Awsome bow. A picture at full draw would be good to see too.in reply to: Arrow weight #40682Thanks David. Is 550 enough not to wreck my bow as Steve said? Can you suggest a good 145 gr single bevel broadhead? Traditional heads are near to impossible to find here and when you say single bevel they look at you like you just escaped from a nut house.
in reply to: Arrow weight #28098Yes as in coyote! A true hunter I can respect!
in reply to: Arrow weight #17479I,ve read Dr. Ashby,s article’s in TBM. Thats why I started my own Experimentation. These are the only arrows I,ve shot from this bow for the two years I’ve had it. They were on the paper from the manufacturer with arrow recomendations. They penetrate fine on deer but I will increase the weight for elk and moose this fall. I didn’t realize lite arrows could wreck my bow. Your oppinions are all appreciated. Any others? Thanks!
in reply to: Have you ever considered a longbow ?? #14657Hey Tj;
Have You considered a reflex/deflex hybrid desighn? I used a Martin Recurve then ordered a Z58 from Zach Ferguson after reading Byron Fergusons book “Become the arrow”. This design gives yuo the advantages of both recurve and long bow. As others have said try them out first but I rarely shoot my recurve any more. I love my Z58.
Latrans.in reply to: grouse and squirrels #55656Hey Eric,
You can get small rings with wire prongs on them like judos have. They go on behind any point that screws on. I only use broadheads on small game after hitting a rabbit 3 times with judos and chasing it for 2 hours. I havn’t lost an arrow with these and you know a broadhead will get the job done. Sorry I can’t remember the brand name but they’re not hard to find!in reply to: grouse and squirrels #55648Hey eric!
I found a small ring with wires on it like a judo. it slides on behind any point that screws in. I use them on broad heads. I havn’t lost an arrow and you know a broad head will do the job. I shot a rabbit 3 times and chased it for two hours with judos. I wont hunt with judos again. sorry I don’t remember the brand name but they work. I got them at wholesale sports in Saskatoon but Im sure any archery dealer will have them.in reply to: 3D target repair #50720Thanks alot Robin!
