in reply to: Got another one addicted to tradbows! #17685
yes I too have “corrupted” another compound shooter to recure. he sold his two recurves and is having a blast shooting his Samick sage.
On the other hand I just bought a camp pink martin compound to get my girlfriend into the game. The recurve was just too much for her , going to school, 3 kids, etc., but hopefully when she’s shot enough of the martin I can get her over to one of my Chek Mates.
get them shooting at all costs and if you have to convert them later LOL.
in reply to: Bow Season vs. Crossbows #17675here in Nova Scotia Canada crossbows will be part of the youth season (thrid week of archery season0 and the regular gun season. within a short time i suspect the xbow will be used in the full season. just a matter of time as most areas will find out.
the bowhunters associations are in favour of a stamp for each weapon (our wildlife stamp funds currently go to habitat projects)for each type of weapon you use. At present the only stamp is the archery stamp and you only need it if you hunt with bow and arrow during the archery season, none is needed if you you the general deer season.
with a stamp system in place we’ll be able to get the kill ratios for each type of weapon and hopefully, if need, be able to preserve the “primitiveness’ our our archery season.
that said the more ethical and educated hunters we can have in the woods the better for all of us.
good luck to everyone.
in reply to: Michigan "Meatout Day" #19870I can’t speak for all Canadians but she’s got a USA passport so you can keep her!!
in reply to: PAYING FOR PERFORMANCE OR NAME? #51294BWs and other top name bows along with Cheks, madog and a ton of other bows are all good bows. The selling price of a bow works the same as most other things- the more you spend on marketing, websites, advertising magazines, tv sponsorships etc are all costs that must be passed on to the consumer. the more emplloyees you have well the more cost and liabilities go up. as well ther eis a certain snob factor to all bows , whether they cost 300 or 3000. So the brand name, much like designer jeans, shirts or dresses etc. can add a significant cost difference of a product, bows are not immune to this.
A few years ago, I’m a land surveyor and engineer, I lost a project because my rate was 20 % percent less than a competitor. They felt I was going to give a lesser proct becaus eof my price quote. So I raised my rates 25%, got the next project from them and am busier than ever.
market right, provide a good product and service and your serives are worth what people are willing to pay. same with bows
I shoot an H2 and befoe that I shot a kings pawn deuxe
