Then put this part in the Source box: http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm299/bowdart/R2%20was%20here.jpg
in reply to: Changes to Tradbow.com #14282The new site will not have a new address; it’s still tradbow.com. When you are at the new site Home page, scroll down until you see a large red banner that says Campfire Forums. That will take you to this site. I believe when you click on Member in the menu (it’s not a dropdown item, click the actual word “Member”) and it will also take you to this site.
We tried so hard to convert these posts over, but this form of software (cold fusion) does not play well with other. We went through this several years ago when we got a forum update. We just have to make the new forum the place to be, but you guys are welcome to still hang out here if you want.
I have also found that I can save an entire thread by going to print and then saving it as a pdf.
Keep the questions and comments coming.
in reply to: My apologies #15174And I will do a better job of limiting the temptation. 😉
in reply to: Hunting 2016 #14494Sending a hug from “mom”. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’ve been through that pain several times. Dogs just don’t live long enough.
in reply to: Longest subscriber to Traditinal bowhunter #23812Good question! First of all, can you see the Member Start Date and number of posts beside each person’s name? I can, but maybe that’s because I’m an admin.
When we look at who has been a member the longest, (excluding TBM staff) that goes to T Downing, who joined on our launch date, November 3, 2008. During that month the following members also joined: thesingingbowyer, Patrick, Clay Hayes, Alex Bugnon, Chad Sivertsen, Jarrod Feiner, hillcountryraven, Todd Smith, SteveMcD, Steve O, heydeerman, Jesse Minish, sharpster, norbau, oldtwohairs, jenei, J.Alex, johnny2, fartski, Phil Tuccillo and spatula11, just to name a few.
maddawg you started in March 2009. If anyone else wants to know their start date, just ask.
I can’t believe we’ve been at this for eight years! My sincere thanks to all of you for making my job such a joy.
in reply to: Posting Pictures in the Forums #57277I found an app called Image Size (in iTunes) that worked very easily to resize my image and save a copy to iPhoto. I had a hard time figuring out which one was the smaller file, but I changed the last image in my phone, so they were next to each other. When I changed an older image, the smaller photo became the last image in my folder. Does that make sense? There were several apps to choose from if you want an app that does more than just resize an image.
The standard size for our forum is 640px wide. If you save the image larger than that it will probably still work, as long as the file is under 1Mb. But if you’re gonna change it, why not change it to the right size? 😀
I haven’t checked, but I imagine that Android has a similar app for this kind of thing.
Another suggestion is to email the photo to yourself, and you can select what size you want to send. To me, that is not as precise as the app.
in reply to: Posting Pictures in the Forums #56691Hi Matt and David. While testing this out, I did find out a few things. When I try to attach an image that I took on my phone, the file is too large. But when I attach a file I saved from Facebook, it worked just fine. Matt, could that be the case with your photo that worked vs the one that didn’t?
I don’t know how to resize pictures in iPhoto on the phone. I’ll see if I can do a little more research on that.
in reply to: HUNTING BUDDY #36512Awesome! There is something about being outside that sparks some great conversations with kids that are turning into real people. She’ll be grown before you know it, and she’ll remember the great times afield with you. Good job, Grumpy!
in reply to: Shaft Friction #23963Here are some ideas from a Tip of the Week that ran.
in reply to: My new baby #45576I wondered how long it would take for you to share that little darling with everyone here. Congratulations to you and Lauren.
I will make an exception and allow this wonderful, off-topic post. Anyone else want to share their kids?
in reply to: On The Wild Edge #30453Thanks, Mike.
I watched this movie recently and enjoyed it very much. I’d recommend it as a great movie to also share with non-hunters. Here is the description from Dave’s site.
ON THE WILD EDGE: HUNTING FOR A NATURAL LIFE
Synopsis: In 1980, David and Caroline Petersen packed all they owned into a VW bus and fled urban life for the Rocky Mountains of southwest Colorado. Thus began the couple’s lifelong immersion in a simple, independent existence balanced precariously between culture and nature. Accompanying David on his annual elk hunt, On the Wild Edge provides poetical inspiration for all serious hunters of personal meaning in life.
“My hope for this documentary,” says Belgian filmmaker Christopher Daley, “is that it captures the Petersens’ exemplary commitment to living honest, uncluttered lives not merely “close to nature,” but as active players in and courageous defenders of wild nature.”
in reply to: Paul Brunner's article in the latest TB. #7776Fallguy wrote: I really enjoyed Paul’s article. Was this a new one or was it a reprint from years back? I have not seen or heard anything from him in quite some time.
Always new material. Paul spends most of his time in New Zealand now, so we don’t see him much either. 😀
in reply to: Compton anyone? #47228We missed you, but totally understand the situation. I hope she’s feeling better, and congrats on the baby! 😀
I had a lot of fun this weekend, and it was great to meet Matt and see lots of other friends.
