in reply to: Euro Mount #36538
Very nice….looks great. I much prefer Euro mounts, as well.
in reply to: Micky's Fall freezer hunt video! #35417Man, that was great. Very nice footage….I enjoyed it!
in reply to: Broadhead of choice let's hear it #27534Got the old green Razorheads on there now, but will be going with the Grizzly single bevels come fall.
in reply to: Mega Morchella! #27379Nice! Those are huge….and mighty good eating.:D
in reply to: fresh hickory #24181Working on the same thing myself. I split the tree into 4 staves and have them drying in the barn….actually have one in the truck in the sun (windows up). Have been told to rough one out to near bow dimensions to speed up drying.
If it’s roughed out and placed in a dry area with good air flow, I’m told it can be worked/tillered in a month or so…..
Can’t add much more other than an emphatic “Amen”.
Like Camuto said, I don’t recognize much of my own hunting in that crap.

That’s a good one….and easy to sell Mama on. She can lay on the beach while you hunt turkeys and pigs. Perfect!!
in reply to: Low budget do it yourself hunt? #11718The Wyoming pronghorn sounds good to me.
My ideal bowhunt would be something you do every season….elk. I’m absolutely dying to bowhunt elk….I’ve lived, worked, and fished in the backcountry of Wy, Mt, etc, but somehow never been able to elk hunt. I WILL be doing a diy/low budget backpack hunt out there in the next year or two.
in reply to: New Bow Day – Bama Royal #62165Wow….great looking bow. Love the wood combo….how long is she?
in reply to: Lowcountry hogs #61820SE Georgia……They’re fun to hunt (and to put on the smoker), but ecologically they’re vermin. I try to shoot every one I can.

Hey Tom; Thanks for the reply, I bought a new ACS bow. I settled on a 51#@28,62″ with carbons #3555 with a Eclipse 145gr sng. bevel head. I’ve been shooting the bow for a week and really like it. Shoots a bare arrow super straight,so it tuned up real nice for me.Thanks again…Regards WadeI have the same weight bow in a 66 incher. I shoot the 3555 with 225 grain head/insert. They fly great….
in reply to: Archery Geese and Ducks? #60964Even though I’ve especially thought about geese with archery equipment, I share that sentiment, Don. But lately my 10 year old lab requires me to fetch em myself.:D
in reply to: Turkey Feather uses..? #57212Wing and tail feathers work great for fletching….tailfeathers most especially on primitive arrows. A wing is invaluable for flapping, fly-downs, and brushing against the tree to sound like a bird on the limb.
At the very least, hang the suckers up everywhere. Garden, office, truck, neighbor’s porch….:D
in reply to: Please introduce yourselves, I'll start #57196Howdy, all. Figured with my first post, I’d introduce myself. I’m a recent convert to full-time trad archery…..have been bitten hard, and loving it. I’m a wildlife biologist by trade; I work alot with land conservation and protection. Hunt, fish, paddle, bird watch, and camp all the time. Like to read and play music….have a 3 year old and a great wife. Really look forward to learning from ya’ll and reading your stories……
