in reply to: Reply To: No Elkheart?!?!? #55773
Dave, you will be sorely missed by many in the magazine. Most of us have come to depend on your bold insights, and your rapier-like wit, so much so that we feel a void….We are lucky, at least you lurk in cyber space with us here. Wish you all the best…Keep up the good work, and keep us enlightened.
May you have many more ‘Good Hunts’. God speed,David Petersen!!

in reply to: Anything Positive @ This Winter? #52678On a positive note,I got a job last Monday and am now gainfully employed at the Hopedale Mine as the Utility man. I’m loading coal trains, shoveling coal(keeping in shape),and doing whatever the foreman has me do. The bad part is working out in zero degree weather…..The good part is I’ll be operating equipment that I’ve been trained to operate…bulldozer,front-end loader, and skid steerer. Worked 56 hrs. this week,so there’s plenty of overtime. After 6 mos.of being unemployed, things are kind of looking up! Wayne
PS Great photos,Bruce!May go afoot and stalk deer this afternoon. Just kinda resting now….spending a lazy day with my better half.8)

in reply to: Cedar shaft availibility #43788Codger….try Testor model paint for your cresting. It comes with thinner, and is all I use for cresting….Happy hunting! For the paint, that is. Wayne
in reply to: Favorite AMO for hunting? #41452Both of the longbows I hunt with are 68″(Elk River and Robertson “purist”)and I have no trouble with stacking or finger pinch.
The Elk River is 52# and the Robertson is 58#,so there’s a little bit of a transition from one to the other.
in reply to: Coyote on Deer #36104I’ve had coyotes come into my doe pee when I was in my blind.I nearly goat a shot.
Then one time, early morning,a doe ran by me in my stand, and a few minutes later,a coyote ran in her track and stopped.Missed the shot….
in reply to: Coyote on Deer #34682Same here in eastern Ohio,David…..There are plenty of deer and I see coyotes several times per season. They sure aren’t hurting the deer population here. Wayne

in reply to: Sixth Sense #29198I know what you guys mean…..sometimes you don’t hear or see anything, but you sense the deer is there, and you carefully scan the area, and there they are. Wayne
