pics are up
this one is just after he caught one of the squirrels and grounded it.
The next two are of him guarding the squirrel he is trying to eat.

I predict it will open whole new worlds of accuracy for you. Happily for me, my new Elkheart, first of its species off the one-man production line, is in the mail now. I just hope it arrives before the world ends. 😀
Congrats on a good choice in bows, and on your promotion.
You are right. I love my Hill bow, but I want something I can work with and I will over time get to shooting it again, but right now I need a viable bow that looks great, and I found that Gregg can knock that out of the park.

Good luck with the new job. Look forward to seeing pic’s of the new Helms Deep!

I will post them when it comes around. I am sure it will be a little bit. I am pretty far back on the list I am sure, but I will definitely post pics. This will be my first custom bow so I am really excited. That being said, you should post some of yours as well when you get it in.

in reply to: Back Quivers, let's see em… #39906My brother and I are planning to have custom quivers before February. I currently use a worthless one for my longbows and my recurve I carry a bow quiver. I hope to be able to show a picture of a nice back quiver soon.

in reply to: Elkhearts, old and new #38793You are right in all accounts. The cold hurt me when I tried to use that bow and I have decided to hang it on the wall. It hurts me to do so, but it must be done. I love my recurve and will hunt the rest of the season with it. The issue I have with it, is I truly fear it doesn’t have the cast that would allow for a full pass through. It, compared to my brother’s longbow (similar weight), doesn’t compare. My bow is much slower/it drops much faster with same arrows. That being said, I want to get a new longbow of similar if not same wait to become proficient with.
in reply to: Elkhearts, old and new #38776Although I still want this style of bow, I really would love to master the Hill style bow before I purchase any other longbow style. I hurt my arm again pretty bad shooting the Hill I have now. That being said, I picked up my recurve because of the lighter draw and was sinking it in the 10 ring EVERY time. I think that I may, when Gregg Catches up with all the EH’s, I will try and snag an American from him 😀

in reply to: My new longbow #8047They look great. I hope one day I could have a dream bow. One that would remind me of aspens growing on the edge of a field. a scene that I hope to one day get to actually see.
in reply to: My new longbow #7948That is a fine looking bow. Did you craft this yourself?
in reply to: The Fletchings Cut Me!!! #11137Thanks guys, I will take it all into consideration. My arrows fly true, so I don’t want to alter anything currently. To come to think of it, I just fletched the arrow the night before and I did not put a drop on the ends like I usually do. I honestly didn’t ever do it for that reason, but so they would not fall off if it went through some rough brush.

If you have not seen it yet watch the Schulz video. Lots of good tidbits in there:

These bow are the quietest around!
I love when things come together. I watched as much as these videos as I could before it was dark. Ten minutes before dark I grabbed my bow and an arrow that had partial fletchings on them and ran out the door. I left my keys in the house so I couldn’t grab the glove and armguard. My first shot was from my porch. I did just as Mr. Schulz said and BAM I hit perfect. I ran out to the target smiling ear to ear and whispering to myself how awsome that was like a giddy school girl. I got my arrow and got about 10 yards away turned focused on the spot and not only burned a hole with my eyes, but the arrow mad it bigger when it passed through just where I was looking!!! 😆
I have been doing some arm exercises to strengthen my shoulder and with the form that Schulz suggested, the “in one motion shot” allows for my body to do the work rather than just my arms. I didn’t feel one pain or ache. Oh, and I don’t need to forget to add that I didn’t even hit my arm with the string!!!
Thanks guys once again for all of the info!!
