in reply to: Noteable Quotes! #39952
“Honoring tradition does not mean ignoring evolution. For without the latter, the former is merely flimsy nostalgia.”

But you have my applause.
I’m proud of the work we’re doing here, gentlemen. Off-season repartee has been taken to a new level.
in reply to: neat Ashby video #39002Oh man, I’d love to see that link posted on the Trad Police forum.
After all, it’s produced by one of their sponsors, right?

in reply to: Sharpening single bevel heads ? #38826Wait – you meant to tell me you’ve hunted successfully, on multiple occasions, with single-bevel heads and fletching of less than 5.5″?!?
Impossible.
in reply to: Sharpening single bevel heads ? #38662Nothing to add, except it’s good to have you on here, Ron. Great, easy to follow advice.

in reply to: BHA Rendezvous #37354Definitely hoping to be there – still need to figure out if I can swing the dates with work and such. Looks like some great folks presenting!
in reply to: A hunting widow's philosophy #37223Ha! That’s awesome, Wapiti. Well done.
in reply to: which longbow #36593Cool, that definitely helps. There are still going to be a ton of options to choose from within that style of longbow, but that does narrow it down some. Two that I would recommend would be the Kanati by Jason Kendall, and the Robertson Quik Styk. I’m sure you’ll hear about many other great choices as well. Ultimately, you should just try them out. Many bowyers will let you do so.
in reply to: which longbow #36438Is there a longbow design that you gravitate toward? D-shape, reflex/deflex? Old school grip? Recurve grip? All of these things will help in narrowing down a bowyer to recommend.
in reply to: Fronkinsteen flies, she flies!!!! #36254This is interesting, and something I hadn’t really pondered all that much before. I’m shooting 24% EFOC out of two different bows that are 1/8″ past center. It hasn’t seemed to lead to any noticeable tuning issues, but it’s also something I admittedly haven’t played around with that much as far as adjusting strike plate, etc. What you’re saying makes sense, J.

I think it would be great! How funny would it be if Trad Bowhunter got a reputation for promoting “radical” thinking? There are at least several layers of irony there…
