      I will ask the wife on this one later and give you a right wording, be careful about comparing the 2 language as being similar, after all there is still a lot of bitter history between Poland and Russia. Interesting enough you can not bowhunt right now in Poland.

        DJ welcome to the site. That is good thinking on your part about the bow. I would encourage to learn to shoot as well with it as you can. However as you get better in your shooting you may find the Samick is not what you need and a change may be in order. As far as carbon arrows they are probably the best bet to start with but not cheap. Enjoy the learning process and if you ever have any questions always welcome to ask. Also for me the one best thing I did to help with learning to shoot the longbow well was to take a couple of lessons form a coach to help with my form.

          Doug;

          I believe it was a 1/2” or 3/4 light green foam. Went that route since by feel it seemed like the best foam with a stiffness for what I needed. I then got a piece and cut into a circle and then tried in the quiver. I think I may have ended up with 2 in there when all is said and done.

              If you are really going to do a backcountry hike you may want to start with weighing the bag and go from there. After all every ounce you pack in has to come back out except for food. For September in elk country most 20degree bags work well if you naturally sleep warm. The odd snow storm may cool it enough to be a bit uncomfortable.

                Well hopefully you both have fun on the research. I occasionally use google earth to help with scouting when picking an area to hunt. Also remember that the state has there own biologist and other that can help you with narrowing down where elk in good numbers are.

                  Patrick;

                  I can give you a couple of hints to start. I think the first to decide is do you want to do a DIY which would mean public land hike ins to find good herds. The other option is an outfitter where you ride in by horse and go from there. Once you pick which one you want to do then you will want to pick a state that is either OTC or limited draw where the points would be low enough for you get drawn the first time you try. Yes pine beetle is really bad in a lot of Northern CO but unlike Steve, I have not had problem finding the elk up there the problem I run into is usually to many people causing pressure.

                    Have you looked at the Hidden Hunter blind at http://www.shrewbows.com/ I have heard good things about them. I have not used either blind. I use a standard size blind I got on special at Dick when they were a close out. I just have adapted.

                        I liked a lot of his trick shots he did but the the one nit I had on him is he seemed to be always drawing real short and if you look at the historical pictures of the time even for speed shooting they were coming to full draw.

                              The nice thing with FS when i ordered from them if I had any questions I could call and ask. If they did not have an answer right away they would take my number and call me back with the info I needed. They are in California so the time difference between may make it harder for you to get a hold of someone there.

                                Carlos; I have bought before from FS Discount Archery. They were quick to fill the order and send to me in a timely manner. This was on smaller items like arrows and tabs. I have not bought a bow from them though.
