in reply to: Horn Hunter Slingshot Pack/Quiver? #50145
I like the looks of the pack, have you done any hiking with to see if it rides well as a sling instead of a pack. Also for size how do you think if fits to your frame overall.
in reply to: Another woods walk with the old Shakespeare. #50141That is a beautiful area of the country you have to stump shoot in.

in reply to: Tarantula hawk #39999That is a cool pic R2. Once the spider is dead do the larvae hatch out of it?
in reply to: Bob Lee bows #39743I bought one since they started to run the sale while I had shot one a long time back I enjoy this one a lot smooth, quiet and fast. Note I got the 64″ longbow to shoot with in left hand so that is what my experience is with. I like the fit of the handle the big problem I ran into at the local shop was that most longbows had to small of a grip for my big hand.
in reply to: Eagle Eye Champion-Ron Swartz #39737Congrats are in order for both father and son that is a great feat.
in reply to: GFA Quiver #32397I actually made my own version by taking an old bow quiver and sewing on a strap. Worked well most of the time except for had to use a safety pin to keep it from sliding around.
in reply to: Brace heigth #31188I think it depends on the individual bowyer and the bows they design.
in reply to: Back vs. Bow Quivers #26964Since I have along draw of 30.5″ I had a problem with if I carried more than 3 arrows in a bow quiver it would affect my shot result. I have switched to aback quiver or my own version of a gfa quiver also. The one downside to back quiver for me is that most are geared for shorter draw length arrows and so my arrow stick out just enough above my head I get a little grab while stillhunting. My gfa is okay but it broke on me and I need to decide if I should fix with superglue or try a safari tuff or other quiver.
in reply to: Shooting form question #26958How are you aiming your bow if instinctive then you might not be focusing enough. Also our brain compensates when we miss in the same spot twice and the goes to correct and if we do that with a hand move to we have overcompensated. I would recommend filming to make sure that you doing a proper draw and release since you might not be getting those down. I found for me I was overdrawing and not keeping my bow hand and string hand and elbow not in line and this cleaned up my moving side to side.
in reply to: Deer hearing #26956Good to know that it is more the intent with sound being made that scares them away. I can work on that then.
in reply to: Elk Season is only 36 days away! #26954I drew deer in area10 myself. So with a wife being due on Sept.24 I only get to hunt mulies up there this year, no elk:(
in reply to: Roosevelt Elk vs. Rocky Mountain Elk #25750Did you see the massive herds in winter? for most of the herds of Rocky Moutnain near me keep small in size and then merge together for winter feeding.
