Why are people surprised when they voted him that he would act like this. While they argue it is a form of communism they are just really hiding their point of view in that they want their form of totalitarianism, which is bow to the corporate paymaster and enjoy the crumbs he throws at you.
When I was a kid in the 80 and first heard the name and could not find more info in magazines about it. I thought the same thing as Wexbow that I had to take classes or do something else related to archery at a professional level to join, so I never did.
Wexbow wrote: [quote=David Petersen]I too am a member of PBS, but really wish they’d change the name. I know this is an old topic, but I’m betting they could double membership in short time with a more appropriate name. “Professional” has a distinct meaning with no room for roaming. It just doesn’t fit here and has a negative feel to it among lots of folks. Can’t count the times I’ve heard this from others, as well as saying it myself. IMHO
Being a paddy from across the pond, and thus a completely external observer, i thought PBS was an organisation for PROFESSIONAL hunters and figured its members would primarily be outfitters, guides, game managers, writers, coaches, etc. The name is definitely misleading 😕 Just an opinion from someone looking from the outside in.
in reply to: Fletching tips #26568How are you prepping, I usually clean the arrow first with the denatured alcohol and then use Bohings Fletch Tite glue and have had no pop offs myself on aluminum.
in reply to: Fletching tips #20036Hmm, not sure on the second question and what you are asking. But for Aluminum/Carbons to flecth I like to fist get them cut to length for my draw. I then clean the shafts with denatured alcohol to prep and then put in the Jo-jan jig and get ready for flecthing. I then put the feather I want in the feather clamp and do a test fit to make sure everything lines up. i then apply my glue to the feather and put the clamp in place to mount the feather. Then when the glue dries take the clamp off and then put a little drop of glue on the front of the feather to help prevent from coming off when in use. Repeat on all arrows until you have the shafts all fletched. I have done wood before but since I got raw shafts that had been grouped at the store I did not do matching checks since already completed , I then put them in a dip tube to stain and the applied the feathers.
There are when it comes to wood so many creative ways to prep for before flecthing that i could not write it all here.

in reply to: Mid Summer Lake Tekapo Tahr Hunt – New Zealand #11314Enjoyed the pics of NZ takes me back to my travels there for my honeymoon. Will need to take a trip back for the hunting since the last time the wife and I hunted wines and hiking trails:D
in reply to: Goals #1 and #2 achieved! I AM TRAD. #11313Congrats on the success, and hope you enjoy much more.
You can try bob lee longbow that is what I have right now and like a lot. Or if you want go custom you will have to set a price you are willing to spend and then do research. There are so many good custom bowyers that advertise in the TBM magazine and their are others that only advertise by word of mouth that have a cult like following. Good luck on the search.
in reply to: My wife's new bow needs a name… #54020Well the ones that jump to mind for me are related to elk of either bugle or wallow or chirper. Always could call the bow the darling of the northwoods
in reply to: When you can not find it you make it… #53817Beautiful bow there Troy. What about the RMR drew you to it to create one of your own?
in reply to: CO Elk Help Needed #52132I have not hunted in unit 24 per se but have hunted elk up near there a fair bit and what Dave describes can be worse being close to the Ski mountain town areas in terms of day users up on the roads, so you may have to go a ways to get back in away from people. I do have friends that have hunted the Flat Tops and had a lot of success. The one thing that i always see overlooked when hunting here in CO is to stay hydrated so you can help minimize altitude sickness.
in reply to: A little shooting On an April Afternoon! #49468looks like lots of fun and the birchbark quiver looks great too
in reply to: Guerdon#2 is blooded… #44251Congrats looks like fun. are you enjoying the new bow then?
in reply to: Advice on new bow #41468I don’t have any experience with either of the 3 bowyers, but if 500-600 is your price range I know bob lee was running sale for awhile and had some of their nicer bows reduced by up to half off. So another one to think about.
