Congrats on being filmed Dave. I hope everything turns out well and that is nice of you to allow the film maker to tag along on the hunt. I gave as much money as I could give right now. Good luck with it.

in reply to: First Arrow Purchase Suggestions #57010It depend if you want carbon aluminum or wood for your arrows. 3Rivers can be a good place to start or if you are wanting wood there are other places to go to get good quality customer service and good arrows from.

in reply to: To cut or not to cut…arrow length?? #51537WyoStillHunter good luck with the recovery from the surgery. That is a good idea to go with the lower weight bow until you have form cleaned up. Then the tuning will give you more clear results.
in reply to: We were a week late! #51531nate like the video bummer on missing them. you going to make any adjustments for next year then.
David that is a good one to hear, I recently tried some wood arrows and had the opposite of good luck. Where I could not get the shaft to fly true like i wanted.
in reply to: To cut or not to cut…arrow length?? #50864Have you shot these arrows with feathers of to do some bareshaft tuning. If the shaft shows weak you may need to cut the shaft shorter to stiffen. However you may want to wait on doing this until you have a clean consistent release. Otherwise you might misread an arrow result and make a mistake in the tuning.
in reply to: Book Recommendation #50856I like several outdoor books the most recent I read was “The Stillhunter” by Theodore Van Dyke. A good book on stillhunting technique for the beginner. Also I enjoyed the book “Death in the Longgrass” by Peter Captstick.
