Sweet….Can’t wait to see some pic.’s. Sounds like we are going to have to start a “Bamabows” club on here….lol…I need to stay away from Nick’s web page….I had to try one of the American Leathers Elk gloves, and I must say it is the best glove i’ve ever used.

Got my take-down Expedition Hunter yesterady in the mail from Nate. 62 inch AMO length, 55 lbs at 29 inch draw length. Cocobola riser with padauk accent, 5 bamboo laminations and elk/deer stag tip overlays. I was a really good boy this year.
That is one sweet bow. How does she shoot?

This one is beautiful. I absolutely love the look of it. That is a keeper!! I’m currently hunting with mine and love it.
Yes Nate has been a busy man. Mine took a couple of weeks longer, his wife and baby was in the hospital for 10 days but everything is ok and back to normal and business as usual. I love the darkness of the bow and still thinking of a name for her, and already thinking of what woods to use in a Royal Expi for next year. Ive got a week left on tuning and practicing to be ready for bow season which opens on the 15th. Wish us luck…LOL

Nate sent me pics of HIS personal bow, very nice! He should be starting my 62in Royal Expi any day! I am going with Orange Osage with a little contrast on the riser, I told him to pick the wood, going with bamboo cores on the limbs about 47@28 plus I am adding the stag limbtips can”t wait to get some pics from him when he gets it started! good luck with your new bow!
Congrats on the new bow getting built. I’m already thinking on a Royal Expi for next year, And Nate builds one hell of a bow. We’ve been back and forth on e-mail as to some gold tip Traditionals for mine going either efoc or uefoc. Going by the easton charts I should be using a 1916 @ 28-29″ but mine seems to like a 2114 @ 28″ which is about 2 spine sizes heavy….go figure…lol

I went with a Bocaote riser and riser overlay,3-lams of walnut + coreglass limbs (Nate recommended walnut for speed) with phenolic,Bocote, and Elk tips and he hit my weight,45# @ 27″ right on the money. If it is anything like the reviews I’ve read it should shoot like a dream.
Randy
Sounds sweet…should have mine by the end of Oct.
When you talk with Nate have him send you some pic’s of the Super Expi he built for himself to hunt with this year. It is one beautiful bow !!!Randy

Dave
The running brace height is 6.5″ – 7.5″. Got it set at 6.75 and it shoots great. The pic above was after it was first strung and was setting on 7.75″.

in reply to: Black Widow broke today #38996You can contact Black Widow, when they build a bow they take all the spec’s for the individual bow. So with the bow’s serial number you should be able to have a new set of limbs built for it and they should fit like the original limbs, that is if it a take down bow.

in reply to: GFA Quiver #32589I have never used a back quive, always a bow quiver, but I used some old staps just playing with the bear quiver and it just seems like it would be very hard to keep it out of the way or out of the brush when stalking. And being able to get the arrows in or out of this style quiver is awkward to say the least.
in reply to: Meet "Lacie" my new Bama Expedition #30007Yeah I know it probably wont be the last…lol…I started the with trad bows back in 94 along with compounds since about 1990, but always seem to come back to the traditional way. As for going with walnut, its what Nate recommended to get the most speed I could out of 45# draw weight and my 27″ draw. He said he built one for a guy that was 45# @ 26″ and he was getting around 204 fps, but didnt know what arrows he was using. I too love the look of red elm, the Saxon I put on the classifieds has straight grain red elm on the face and cross grain red elm on the belly with a maple core and it is a good looking bow, just a little too heavy for me now. And as you, recurves are nice but its just something about a longbow that has me hooked….lol
in reply to: Meet "Lacie" my new Bama Expedition #29931That is a beautiful bow. Let us know how it shoots. I’m new to the forum and thanks to you (limblover) and this forum I’ve found Bama bows. I started with a Jerry Hill Wildcat II longbow, then to a Bear Grizzly and Super Kodiak recurve, to a Saxon American Traditions Longbow, which was put on the classifieds yesterday after ordering a Expedition Hunter, After several e-mails we nailed it down to 45# @ 27″ with a Bocote riser and overlay,3-lams of walnut with core glass, and phenolic, bocote, stag tips. Can’t wait for it to get here.the wife said this will have to be my last one…:o
