in reply to: Turkey Arras #57679
I was thinking it was so, so I just looked it up. In Texas when hunting with archery equipment for turkey and all game animals a broadhead of at least 7/8″ width must be used. There’s more to the rules but for we trad folk hunting in Texas that’s enough for this thread methinks.
It might be wise to double check the state regs where one plans on hunting turkeys.
You can put a turkey stopper behind the broadhead. I have one rigged up on a flu flu I’ll dig out and take pics of tomorrow and post.
in reply to: What ya got goin? #56326Pheasant, squirrels, rabbits, quail, etc. all delicious when substituted for chicken in chicken and rice casserole. Yum.
Congrats on pheasant shot with bow. Fun. Bet it helps to have a dog though to avoid total surprise. :D:D
in reply to: What ya got goin? #55303Foggy and icy here so I was just reading and getting “en-lighted” by Dennis. 😀

in reply to: Duiker quiver #53063When my wife tells me to stick a sock in it she don’t mean my quiver methinks.
Decided to change things. This is about your deal not mine.
Steve that looks good.
I put foam from a yoga block in the bottom one of mine thinking it would be the cat’s meow but…. Yoga foam it good for plugging holes in 3D targets…. but it is to “grippy” in the bottom of the quiver. I can’t easily pull the arrow out.
So back to old stuff.
in reply to: I'm back…. #53038Glad your health has improved and y’all were able to help someone out.
Mud:evil: I hate mud. Putting hi lines back up after storms knock’em down will give one all the mud experience one ever needs.
New bow huh? Good deal. Hope you enjoy.
Cold and snowy here today so I’ve been shoveling snow rather than shooting.
Glad you’re back. Glad you’re better.
in reply to: North Archery #52817I really like those arm guards in the second photo. Simple but a neat design.
How can one order possibly or would shipping be prohibitive?

You guys seeing and end yet or more coming?
Where does all that water go when the snow melts? Are there reservoirs on the rivers in that part of the world to collect it?
Reckon it’ll raise the ocean level a tad? 8)

They have heavier brass inserts and heavier steel adapters to make the judos match weight. The reasons for dedicated arrows are that I still stump a little in hunting season, I use these to shoot a few shots into a stump or dirt right before heading into the woods and because I don’t want to subject my hunting arrows to the same abuse unless I’m taking a shot at animal. Best, dwc
Can’t argue with that at all.
I do tend to use the same few shafts for stump shooting but I think I’d like to have all of my shafts (minus the point) the same weight.
I should stress that I’m shooting carbon and I really try to avoid putting heat to the shaft to melt the hotmelt to change inserts, etc and GrizStiks are expensive. I’ve ruined a few while trying to remove inserts with heat… I’d like to set-up the shaft and be able to shoot whatever point I need to. I don’t want to have certain shafts that weigh more than others because I have extra weight installed permanently inside the shaft.
Put a washer behind the broadhead and make it 177 and all will be well.. :D:D
I’m good with that… I was just responding to replies.
Just being ornery. Been known to do that. Have a good evening!!:)
