in reply to: Whatcha Got Going 2021 #152472The wind ain’t blowing here in Amarillo today and I can’t hit squat……. :-))
in reply to: Draw length ????? #149689Another thought….Kentucky windage may not get a rocket to fly by and take pictures Pluto but it sure can put an arrow in the vitals…
in reply to: Draw length ????? #149687I think if we overthought riding a bicycle like we do shooting a bow we’d be busting our butts on every attempt to ride.
I’ve been through the “thinking” stage and gave it up. Nowadays I just diddle til it works and contribute it to man’s ability to make things work, go shoot my my bow and over the years have I’ve out a miss is me not any of the other billions of what if’s, molecules and ………..
Saying all that I still have gravity and friction and wind excuses…and I know some of those targets butts jump the string…
Speaking of 1916’s…Back in the day if you weren’t shooting 2117’s you didn’t know what you were doing…Now that I’m shooting 47# and 42# bows I’m simply amazed what 1916’s do….
Never overlook common sense ……………..nor experience……………..after 60 or so years of bowshooting and tuning I just kinda know what’s gonna work and what maybe will….Explain to you?? Doubtful…Show you one on one very likely…
in reply to: My Possibles Bag #149049Most of the time all I have to worry about hauling back to camp is my old arse………….A Snickers bar and a drink of water is helpful for that…
in reply to: What ya got goin'? 2 #148165My mix similar to yours but I like to add chipotle chili powder to mine. A teaspoon (or tablespoon depending on whose coming to dinner 🙂 ).
Since I lost the ranch I’ve hunted for nearly 30 years I have a way bigger chance of eating beef this year…chipotle good with that too tho…A bright side to everything..
in reply to: My Possibles Bag #148152I keep an original Leatherman in mine and instead of a bungee to aid in the field dressing I keep a couple of 15′ pieces paracord. That (paracord) has come in handy for other purposes a time or two.
Might be good idea for experimenting to have have string plenty long and use the timber hitch method of attaching string to bottom limb. That way you can tie/untie that end for adjustment. When you find out what length works then you can make/buy new string ….
You can search “archers knot”… all kinds of info
