I’m looking @ 125 gr./145 gr. mainly cause that’s what I have a lifetime supply of them seems. My longbows are mainly before center. I have a center shot one that so far will shoot anything I put through it. It’s just a center shot shoots different to my brain than a before center does. Got the science figured though & doing good with it. Nother story! I will try FOC+ someday but now I’m mainly interested in getting started with some carbons. 28″ draw when doing right but I’m happy if I consistently shoot 27″. I actually will go with 281/2″-29″ cause my draw is longer when shooting at game and stump shooting than it is when you put points on a 3-D target (Target panic under peer pressure it seems).

I shoot pretty much 500-520gr. 45 thru 50# bows (also results of 35 yrs. of learning 10-11 gr. per in). I have some arrows in the 450-460 gr. that shoot well also. So there we go Troy. I think I saw that Carbon Express 150’s would be in the ballpark also. I’m a learner so I’m curious.

Then there’s the time I wore one of those flowery looking welders caps with short brim while stump shooting and chasing rabbits at my daddy-in-laws near Datil NM. and the hummingbirds nearly drove me nuts.

Very, very dry and windy here in the Texas Panhandle. Hardly any moisture and what little there was the wind dried it up within hours. Did have drizzly day yesterday but only 0.1″.

This was given to me when I retired in ’07’ by a dear friend and workmate. He was a student of Jan Van Reenen, formerly of S. Africa, now located here in Amarillo. It has field dressed 10 deer and is my go to.

A bow don’t know the difference between a gr. of wood or a gr. of carbon.

Blazin fast but like Troy says, I be watchin.

Am I figuring right? 6.22 gr. per # of bow weight?

Nothin’ like sneaking around in the mesquites trying to get on those guys. They’re way sharper than I am sneaky but I’ve lucked out a couple of times doin’ spot and stalk.

An excellent source of frustration and definitely many lessons in humility. Love it though.

This one also. I know where more are so I know there were camps around. I’ll spend more time looking this summer I hope. Last year was just too hot here in the Panhandle, hottest and driest on record. We stayed in the shade a bunch.
