Gotta remember that your bow hand is pushing and/or holding against whatever weight you’re pulling with the other side of your body. Whether you feel hand shock or not, there is a sudden release of pressure when the arrow is loosed. I’m sure you’ve seen some of the videos of the dramatic vibrations and whatnot’s that a bow goes through upon release of the string. Some of that radical energy has to be absorbed and shared with the arm holding the bow I would think. I know often when I go to the gym a day or two after and extensive shooting session or one with a higher poundage than normal it normally is the bow hand of my body that feels the weights and resistance machines. Usually the deltoids and triceps it seems on my left side (I’m right handed).

Just some thinking from an old guy!!! Could be wrong, have been from time to time 😀

I have shot one pheasant with my bow, just stumbling around and got lucky. It probably would be more productive behind dogs or hunting with more folks but I’ve never had that opportunity. But I have a new shooting buddy that is into dog training and bird hunting so I may have a story to tell this fall. Maybe find quail. Fun but not probably overly productive. :)) Be a tale to tell perhaps. We see.

I know of people who do so, hunt birds with a bow, as matter of fact that was one of Tred Barta’s sagas, trying to shoot a duck with his longbow. I’m sure others will chime in.

Bone dry here in Texas Panhandle still.I have had 7.6″ of rain here at the house since the first of the year. Just enough for weeds to get green then die. Betcha Mr. Peterson knows more bout fires in Co. Nebraska had bad one too. Lots of game in that part of the world.

              Maybe some day……………..

I keep a camera watching the front of the house, for 2/4 legged critters, never thought about it becoming a “spyder” camera!! Some more of “What can come about”.

The Canadian River, such as it is below Sanford Dam and Lake Meredith, is but a 1/4 mi. from this location. It always has some flow due to springs in the area, which by the way several have pretty much gone missing since the drought. I had two little trickle springs that were my “sweet spots” for mule deer passing from one canyon to the next. They be dry right now. I think I’m going to dig a hole in one of them and see if I can get some water oozing out. Indian trick that’s been in every thirsty western for years. 😀

What else!! Drought ain’t hurting that hog a bit. There was one last year that it’s back was as high as 55 gal. drum standing on end. Feed all of us maybe!!!!!!!

Far as I’m concerned it’s plenty traditional for me to carry my .45 when I’m among these guys. After all, a 1911 is older than glass limbed bow

Man what else! We just got through eating organic pinto beans, organic cornbread and deer burger. Organic pig & beans not bad either. 😆 For that matter, neither is elk and beans! I must like beans ya reckon?

Now, if I was to mention my wife needing to gain some weight I’d be eating organic crow I imagine

Here we go. I know I’ll get gripes about the feeder. It ain’t mine and my friend donates the hogs to feed the hungry so be it….Pigs are one big pestilence here in Texas for sure.
