Hi Scott, I can only tell you what has worked for me, I shoot groups of no more than 3 arrows I found that it helps with my concentration and focus. When I get flyer’s or open groups it almost always because I have not anchored properly.

One more point I started wearing glasses for reading about two years ago and find when I’m tired arrows will string to the left up to a foot.

Hope some of the above might help, Mark.

          Hi Stefan

I’m in the UK and suffer from the same restrictions (oppression), you may try a post on http://www.archasse.com, but I have found commercial hunting in France to be a rich mans sport.

Italy, Spanish Pyrenees not to expensive and I will forward you contact details latter in the week (when I’ve found them)

Hungary is supposed to be very good and Romania has a good reputation for hunting with limited restrictions but you will need someone to ‘smooth the way’

I visit Switzerland 2-3 times each year it never fails to amaze me how many languages Swiss people speak, I have a colleague that speaks 11!

          Good luck, Mark.

            Hi Wayne, try updating/reinstalling Quicktime.

Dave, thank you for the introduction to Richard Nelson, few people have his descriptive powers and infectious enthusiasm I look forward to exploring his archive of previous encounters.

Mike, Ed, Dave, I’m sat in my office looking out onto bullocks grazing in the sun, three friends set out this morning next stop Denver, should have been four but one dropped out all flights accommodation etc. paid and he can’t make it?

I regret not joining them but sometimes there is just noway, good luck to you all and I look forward to hearing how you get on.

              Mark.
I need to get some mud on my boots, fresh air, and meat on the ground.

And welcome from me also, beagles and hares when I was a bit younger and fitter, nothing like hounds singing on a frosty morning.

I agree with John, speak to as many trad archers as possible and try as many bows as possible before you decide what route to go down, hope you both enjoy your new found addiction.

Hi Todd, not much to add to what’s already been said, not every hunt has a happy ending you can only look to yourself and learn the lessons one at a time, I guess most of us have been there.
Do you know anyone with a good dog, start from the bed and if you don’t get a scent work towards water sources, be patient with the dog and don’t second guess it.
And as has been said, don’t lose heart, put it behind you and become the best hunter you can, Mark.

Back again, that works a treat, new glove saved from the bin.

I’m off right now to cut the finger tips of a glove, thanks for the tip, Mark.

I can only think you have dust or oil on the feathers, possibly waterproofing? I’ve also been using tape for a couple of years without any problem. I use fly tying scissors rather than a knife for trimming, just my preference.

Hope it works out for you, Mark.

Hi John, welcome aboard, equally important as bowhunting:

11 September, Australia v All Blacks, Sydney.

Will this be a preview of 2011 final:?:

More seriously hope the quake has not effected you, we have folks in Christchurch but all appear to be OK.

                            Mark.

Like the rest of you I read very few mags or catalogues now.

Once upon a time the mags retold stories of hunts and adventures, now they tell us how to hunt, what to use and where to go. All this is driven by commercial sponsors encouraging us to spend more and more of our hard earned to perpetuate the circle of greed.

My opinion is that traditional archery is a narrow subject but very deep and rich in it’s history and for my money that’s what TBM has captured and thats why I’m here, long may it continue.
