Engineers supply stores often have bags of rags that have been vacuum packed I have wrapped them in cross weave tape and they last well, broadheads open them up a little but another wrap of cross weave and they are good to go.

Out the back at work I have a ‘block’ of recycled plastic its darn hard and holds arrows like a vice I keep hoping it might soften up but shows no sign of it.

Ive been tempted to try super glue but shooting woodies thought it would either take off the finish or even a chunk out of the shaft when they need refletching.

I bought ‘Dragon Spit’ from our local archery shop for fletchings, no good for fletchings takes an age to set and I mean hours but welds plastics very well even filling small gaps so now my glasses case is mended!

Consider it marinade, of sorts, it will only make them taste that little bit sweeter.

Cameron, congratulations to the happy couple your family and friends.

I’m sat in the back yard by the fire pit whilst the lady’s plan my eldest son’s marriage next year, I’m keeping a low profile and keeping a close eye on my wallet.

Wose, I’ve now got a mental picture of you and an elk on a tandem, good hunting.

I finally repaired the mess I made of my Dwyer longbow, lots of elbow grease and patience just the handle and arrow shelf to finish off.

.38/55 brass with about….. some No.6 in epoxy on a 3/8″ ash shaft, has a reassuring thump to it.

                    Lookout wabbits, Mark.

If I recall correctly it’s taken a while for you to find the right boat and you sound very happy with ‘her’

I wish you a fare wind and safe journey wherever you may roam.

Look forward to seeing some pictures and reading about you adventures.

I’m off to visit a local farmer who has kindly invited me to practice on his land as we arnt allowed to hunt with a bow in the land of Robin Hood, it upsets the gentry.

I’m so close to picking up the phone to the folks at Black Widow but I really have to reign it in,family commitments.

And you really arnt making it any easier.

                          Enjoy Alex.

                            Lots of good ideas,

Canned fish may also double as bear bait in certain locations:shock:

There is a definite link between location and diet emerging perhaps looking to previous generations and there diets might give us ideas

Can’t claim to be a bowyer but I have found hoof rasps to be cheap and effective when it comes to making sawdust.

Thanks Alex, I’m thinking I might go for the grey, not to everyone’s taste but a color that just disappears in the landscape and on a dull day skyscape.
