Canada’s here are on open license so can be shot all year round and no bag limit, the only folks that do this are farmers when crops are being damaged and then often with a rifle to move the rest on.

My wife takes the breast meat rolls it around well seasoned sausage meat, wraps it in foil and roasts them, I like it.

lyagooshka, I don’t understand why snows are not controlled in Greenland where eggs can be pricked and adults rounded up during the moult, I read that they are eating every blade of grass, moss and lichen in sight up north.

We have greylags here, they are good eating but take a hammering each year, I think because they don’t migrate the meat is juicier and there’s more fat on them but best of all the primaries make good fetchings.

        Four Canadas just went over!

Mike, one of the best sights in nature must be watching migrating geese arrive as they wiffle down.

Alex, bowhunting in Europe is becoming more popular and accepted, if memory serves it was the fastest growing method of hunting in France two years ago.

Strangest thing Ive seen in France was a line of gun hunters waiting for driven boar with a bowhunter at one end.

Spain, Italy and Portugal have well established bowhunting communities and eastern Europe is opening up, regulations and understanding of bowhunting in the east can lead to some interesting situations.

Most of the guys I know either go to the US or Africa and its down to cost most European countries are VERY expensive to hunt and language can be a problem.

Finland and the island of Alandic are on my list of possibles but then so is US, Canada, Alaska……and lots of other places I have read about.

I belong to a small hunting club, about 60 members, and as the token bowhunter am treated as a slightly dangerous nut which is fine. I’m looking forward to showing The Good Hunt when it is released to see their reactions.

If you read French or use google translate (be imaginative with the results) try http://www.archasse.com/ there are some really talented artists and a lot of trad hunters amongst our French cousins, rags are coypu took me a while to figure that out.

Jim, a blank on impact is really going to ruin someones day if not life. These things are just recipe for disaster. Is there even a safety pin?

Pigeons always good eating but specially after the grain harvest, the secret appears to be not to over cook it although I’m the last person to give advise on cooking.

Like brennanherr, says squabs are a delicacy and expensive if you can find them in a restaurant, BB gun is the way to go when they are getting adventurous sitting on the edge of the nest.

Not cat, damn things are full of worms, in an urban survival situation head for the petting zoo, anyone know what panda tastes like?

My favorite is to take the breasts cut into thin strips and stir fry.

Squabs where I come from are flappers, kind of like pigeon veal.

I would add plan each leg of the stalk even if its a few meters look closely at the ground to chose the best route so as to avoid briars, thorns or dry vegetation if possible, also be aware of birds and know their alarm calls, look up don’t move if there are corvids that might spot your movement.

If you have a good view point always watch birds crows, magpies etc. you may see where they are feeding on a carcass or remains of someones field dressed animal and will often see other hunters before you do

Also before you move use binoculars to look into the dark areas of vegetation where an animal might be lay up.

If you get that sixth sense telling you to stay put, stay put, if only for a few minutes and look again before you move always better to look and plan twice rather than bump something.

Enough said about ghillies, if vegetation is thin I use some well weathered skrim netting I use it to make hides add background or just over my shoulders when I’m sat quite.

I use tape on wood, ally and carbon with no problems but the shafts must be clean I use neat alcohol, impatience is my only problem.

David, a local guy that catches carp puts them live in a tank of clean water for a few days to get the mud out of them and says they then eat well, never tried it myself, very popular in eastern europe.

Dave, crows ok but go for the young ones when they begin to sit out on the branches, very tender.

Mike, husky, the original trail food or so I read, its not on my list.

I had snake in Korea and enjoyed that, thought it was eel at first. Turned down coypu in France didn’t smell good.

My brother ‘acquired’ about 2’000 liters. of cooking oil and has been running a Toyota Shogun on it for months, I’m tempted but don’t want to be sat on the side of the road hundreds of miles from home when I’m told my warranty is invalid.

Wahoo, didn’t like the Hilux, do like the Patrol pickup but we don’t get them here and Nissan parts out of area can be expensive.

I got that beat Jim, $8.33 US, and most of that is tax.

Etter, what mpg do you get from your Titan, I have a Navara same as the Frontier and get about 26 mpg combined but would like a bit more cab space. Would like an Amazon but HOW MUCH:shock:
