I find much solice down in the garage shooting diagonally across. It doesn’t do much for distance practice but my form is great, or so I think. Take care.

Yes, kyu-do style, 3 yards, eyes closed, for months and months, working on the release as smooth as snow sliding off the tree leaf:DGot to make that money once in awhile don’t we. Don’t feel like the lone ranger, lol, I had to go back on the road trucking to laredo, tex. from S.D. I do get to see a little more senery, and carry my kodiak with me but am to busy to even shoot it most days. I was trucking over in your N. Y. C. area a couple of years ago and there are a lot of wooded areas around there to hunt in and around new commercial and housing areas if you check it out on google earth. GOOD LUCK!
in reply to: A few more photos. #46294Looks like a nice place, been in that area driving truck. Should be lots of whitetails around. By the way, my first bow was a shakespear.

I hang them on the wall, strung, on nails in the bellies of the tip curves. She snapped almost in two above the handle right as it fades into the limb. I have had trouble with her twisting a limb (several times) and fixing it with hot water in the bathtub. I can’t remember if this is the limb that broke but I would guess so. My Bears are from the 70’s and I keep them strung all the time, never had a problem. I’m open to anyone’s thoughts.
I have had the same problem with Martin Dreamcatchers. One broke in 2 years, replaced and had to pay half the cost. That one broke in less than 30 days. They replaced it for free that time. I’ve been shooting bear bows since back in 1960’s with none of them old bows ever breaking. I did have one bear kodiak break after 13 years, It was a bow from the mid 80’s. My latest bear kodiak I’ve had for about5 years, works like a dream, and is a lot smoother than my dreamcatcher that basicaly hangs on the wall for fear of it breaking, LOL! P. S. I did take it down this spring and killed a trophy merriams gobbler with it this spring. All I got to say is stick with the bear bow and don’t buy another Martin. GOOD LUCK:

Plastic milk jugs, tennis balls almost anything! In the woods it could be a mound of dirt, stump, clump of leaves etc! Whats nice is that all the shots are spontaneous and no 2 are ever the same!
ripforce took the words right out of my mine. so there you go, have fun with your longbow.

in reply to: 55 Yards behind the shooter. Plus another. #11641Excellent shooting George! I’ve also found out that by shooting in practice at long range my accuracy greatly improves on your normal shots of 20 yards and less. Mainly discovered this while shooting long shots at sage brush while antelope hunting. Makes the 20 yard shot seem like 13 yards.
in reply to: Traditional Movies #11623those are all good bow movies, but I also love to watch the new King Arthur that came out a few years back. lots of bows and shots.

I use rain guard. I bought it at payless shoes. They have things u can look up on your computer, just type in what you want to know and your computer will tell u where to look. It’s called rain and stain guard. I havn’t got any for quite awhile so not sure they still carry it.

Hello wolf among dogs. I’m a truck driver from S.D. and will be coming to Fl. with loads in a couple of weeks. Do you know of any farmers with hog problems that would let a person bowhunt if they get a chance to get a spare day or even a half of a day to hunt. Thank you for your time,Paza.

in reply to: Bear S/S Super RazorHeads…thoughts??? #21961Thats all I shoot is the bear razorheads. I use to shoot the bleeder blades in them, untill I seen a couple of them chipped up and turned side ways on my broadhead. Since then I just shoot the 2 blades, it’s a penetration thing with me. I get mostly complete pass throughs on deer most times with my super kodiak! Mostly they sharpen nice, once in awhile I will have trouble with one. Would probably use the bleeders on a bear or other dangerous game, but seems to me they recommend 2 blades on dangerous game in Alaska, good luck.
