Ouch! That’ll leave a mark. 😆 (glad the results can be laughed at)
Cute kids!

Ran into a trad hunter on some public land near here….his knife caught my eye, and he gave me the info on the maker. I really like the Packer model in a curly maple handle (below). 3.5″ blade, 8″ overall. Just wondering.
That’s a beauty! I hate looking at all these bows and knives. Makes me want more. 👿

I took with great camera phone, but reducing to fit here really took out the clarity and detail, but you get the idea…
You can’t tease us like that! I want to see that handle up close and personal! 8)

Me doesn’t think deer could ever speak Cherokee.
in reply to: Longbow shot while sitting #12853I like my 66″ Northern Mist Whisper. I don’t have a problem with it the woods a whole lot, but it does get a bit tricky in the vehicles.
in reply to: Recurve vs Longbow #12739Hi there!
Honestly, you’re in the best position to tell which is faster, if you can get somewhere that has a chronograph you can use. Shoot em both and there ya go. The thing is, you could even have two “identical” bows not shoot the same.
in reply to: Feeling Guilty #12473If my son didn’t gun hunt, and we didn’t have any venison, I’d have no qualms with using a rifle.
Agree with all of the above, except the thanking part. I think appreciating it sufficient. If I were that deer, and you thanked me, I’d tell you to take your thank you and shove it. Well, that is if I weren’t dead.

That’s some impressive repurposing! 8)

I just haven’t had a chance to try them, and with the boots I have now, I imagine it will be a long time before I’m in the market again. Have you tried their pac boots?
No, I’ve never tried them, but I’m considering getting a pair.

I had a pair of heavy hiking boots a number of years ago, and sold them because they were miserably heavy. Since then, I’ve avoided heavy boots like the plague. I will say though, here in Michigan, I almost exclusively hunt using my uninsulated rubber boots, and they work great. When the temp drops below freezing, I’ll bring my boot blankets along. My point though is that since the rubber is not rigid at all, I have to be very careful as to not twist an ankle. I’ve come close on numerous occasions.
I’d like to get a pair of those Mukluk Trackers, but they don’t make them in size 14. 👿
How about these guys, since they advertise in Traditional Bowhunter and are a BHA sponsor:
in reply to: Where is your anchor? #10562Middle finger in the corner of my mouth. It just seems to be the most comfortable place for me to anchor, and I’ve anchored there since I was 11 years old, so it’s probably a bit of a cyclical thing. So, is it more comfortable because I’ve done it forever or have I done it forever because it’s more comfortable there? 😕 😆
There was a brief period where I tried experimenting with other anchor points.
Smithhammer wrote: …I’m shooting with my favorite tab again – the Bateman Bubba. Like you, Patrick, I’m sure I’ll stick with it “forever!” 😉
I’ve had my eye on one of those tabs for a while. Looks very similar to mine, except the top overlay is plastic, and that drives me insane!
R2 wrote: P.S. I have a super glove that I has gone missing. I was going to try nipping the end of the fingers off but I think it’s hiding.
😆 My glove wasn’t as smart as yours. It decided to hide after nipping off the tips.
