      Howdy,

Hopefully neither of you mind me answering :)…he hunts in California.

Patrick, I also have a lab, 14 years old hips are bad and one elbow is shot but still gets up in the mornings and wants breakfast, we go for long walks but donโ€™t go very far, he sniffs every blade of grass and bush, be nice if he saw another spring.

I can relate. They definitely become a family member. Yeah, she had congestive heart failure, could barely see, amongst other things. I didn’t even know dogs could get congetive heart failure until we found out she had it. Which explained why she was ALWAYS panting (near the end).

I LOVE knives. I have two favorites:
One is a Benchmade 940 w/ carbon fiber scales. Super lightweight, awesome locking mechanism: Simple, strong, and practical. I carry that thing EVERYWHERE! Can barely tell it’s there:

My other favorite is on its way back from the Northwest Territories. ๐Ÿ™‚

My Knives of Alaska Bush Camp Knife qualifies for honorable mention. It’s large, and it is a great all around knife. I can use it to chop through small limbs to make shooting lanes, field dress, etc.

Yeah, I’m pretty much a rookie too…only two years in. I shoot a longbow because I liked the slimmer profile, feel, looks. I didn’t try a bunch out so I really don’t have a frame of reference to compare it to.

My wife has a little “yorkie-poo” now, and she’s a cute little thing, but I like labs. My yellow lab, Nikki, had to be put down when she was 13 years old a couple years ago. She was a great dog. ๐Ÿ™

No, they can smell smoke and you, I smoke cigars all the time while hunting, it don’t matter, just keep the wind in your face.

Lol! You seem to have a photo for every discussion.

๐Ÿ™„ Good. I’m going to buy a bow that pulls 10 pounds at my draw length and kill me some hogs!
